Q: How to turn on the side light? Mine does not turn on.

You need to quickly press the power button and it will cycle through all the light modes. I bought 4 and haven't had a singlenproblem..excellent product. Hopebyou didn't get a faulty product. If you did I would return it and get another. I keep one in all my vehicles. Even has a red emergency light.
