used this item for 5 minutes with my sand blaster and it failed me blew a hole in the shaft

I gave it 2 stars because even though it works, it doesn't last long (the sand rips it up quickly).I purchased one of these to replace the dead-man handle on a harbor freight 110lb sand blaster. I needed to sandblast a truck frame and the Kennametal unit had an expected delivery date of 2-3 weeks.I spent about 4-5 hours in total doing this project and went through about 600lbs of course sand. I'm at the end of the project and here's the results:- The ceramic cone nozzle is highly eroded and not long from failing.- The 3/8npt fitting failed (wore a hole straight through it) and I had to replace it with one in my toolbox to get through the project.- I had to replace the ball valve and 1/2" barb half way through the project as the valve seat started failing (leaked constantly) and the 1/2" barb was starting to leak.So expectations.If you need a sandblasting tip for a single project, this will work. It is infinitely better than what came on the harbor freight sandblaster, but just be prepared that it's not going to last. I've already ordered the Kennametal unit so I have a better setup for future. If you have time, I'd suggest doing the same.

My main problem is it is hard to open and close. I sprayed ome WD40 which helped a little bit but I worry about spraying oil onto my glass. I'm not sure how long this will last as my blasting gun.

I've bought 8 different guns and this is by far the best I've bought, it takes me a 1/4 of the time to sand blast an item then with the other guns.
