Q: When do updates expire

Google keeps a list of Chromebooks and the date their updates expire. This Samsung Chromebook 4 will stop getting security updates in June 2027, about 5 years from when I'm writing this. You need to know this information before you buy, search for "Google Approved Chrome Devices" to find their "auto update policy", below should be a list of manufacturers, click the one you are interested in and find the specific model and its "Auto Update Expiration date". I bought my wife a Chromebook 4 years ago, it's in perfect condition and works great, but she got a message telling her it wasn't going to get any more updates. I didn't know about this when I bought it!

Q: How many watts on the power brick?

Not sure what you're asking exactly, however I can tell you that this model has an upgraded charger from the older model it replaced. It's a quick charger and the battery life is longer than it was with my previous Chromebook. In the tiniest print I've ever had the pleasure of reading, it says "3 Amps or 9 Volts". It also indicates it's good for 100-240 volts, 50-60 Hz, so it plugs in fine in US and across the Atlantic. Hope this is helpful.
