Awesome stuff!
Awesome product if you follow the directions to the LETTER! I used a small digital kitchen scale to measure out the 1/7 ratio. 14oz of the big jug and 2oz of the smaller jug (one pound of epoxy) and it worked perfectly! Starting in the morning it was about 65° outside and I had about 30 minutes working time until it was starting to harden in my mixing container. Later in the day in the mid 70's the working time only went down by 10 minutes or so. You'll definitely be able to tell the difference and it doesn't happen all at once. I was able to still apply it easily when it was about the consistency of cake batter without any issues. Just make sure prior to mixing you have all your tools and the work piece ready to rock and roll and you'll be just fine. So far its held up under a 14 foot aluminum boat slamming through wakes and beaching on coarse sandy/rocky shores with zero sign of wear. Approximately 15 days on the lake so I'm pretty happy with it. Oh and zero leaking rivets as well! Edit: 6-6-18 Product STILL working like new, hundreds of fishing trips, hundreds of boat launches and recoveries, hundreds of miles on gravel and dirt roads, even a few trolling trips through 32 degree water with floating ice chunks and absolutely zero signs of wear. Finally a product that actually works! Edit 1-22-21 Still absolutely no signs of wear. The paint I applied over the epoxy is definitely showing signs of wear (abuse), but the epoxy is still holding strong. Still no leaks! Edit 1-18-23 We actually just sold the boat, but the epoxy was still 100% intact. Showed the new buyers the epoxy repair and while looking at it there was still virtually no signs of wear. The paint over the epoxy has completely worn away, with only minimal scratches where we'd presumably beached the boat on a rocky shore somewhere. Good stuff, definitely keeping this stuff in mind for the next repair if (when) needed.

Seriously tough coating/sealer. WORK QUICKLY :-)
Works exactly as advertised. If mixing in halves or quarters, have a digital scale, stir-sticks, and old plastic milk cartons to mix in. None of the mixing tools will be reusable for the next batch. The roller covers will not be usable in the next batch. You have 30 MINUTES once mixed, as directed before it hardens beyond use. Not sure why they color it at all, maybe to let you know where you have and have not coated. Put a nice, thick, hard coating on the hull of an aluminum boat, will sand coat with marine paint.

Very Protective Layer!
I’m very pleased with the Goop Coat It. I don’t recommend going against the manufacturer’s instructions, but I added blue dye and silver and blue glitter into the mix, and am a big fan of how it turned out. Do not apply with a normal cheap foam roller as other reviewers have stated. If I were to do it again, I would spread the goop with a putty knife and the roll over with a non-absorbent roller. I started with a cheap roller, and then was forced to use just a paint brush, which did not spread great due to the thick consistency of the goop. So for my first layer on my 14’ boat I used approximately 3/4 of the 8 pound can, which prevented me from being able due to do 2 even layers. (Completely my fault) Overall, I feel very confident that the bottom of my boat’s hull is going to be way more protected. With the price, definitely go with Goop. Even if you have to apply it every two years it’s still cheaper and way less finicky than the other boat slick-bottom coating options.

Great for aluminum boat leaks
I patched a small aluminum boat that had been hit with shotgun pellets. Not a drop of water after. It does dry fast so be ready to start spreading it as soon as you mix it. Very tough epoxy.

Think I got a old bad can
Was a little disappointed as I mixed it exactly as it directed and even mixed it an additional 2mins as it didnt seem like it was mixing well. Even after that I still tried to apply it but it was like parts of it was pretty thick other parts like water so it didnt apply evenly at all... think im gonna have to sand it all off and try something else.... I think I ended up getting and older can that was starting to seperate was the issue but not sure if I wanna spend another 74 buck to try this brand again

Covered the bottom of a 14' jon boat
I bought this to seal up the bottom of a 14' tracker jon boat that I've had issues with rivets and cracks on. I got the cracks welded then sanded down the bottom with a 40 grit sandpaper on a drill mount. I then washed the boat off and applied acetone and wiped it off. I opened the gallon container and was surprised that it was only half full. I mixed in the hardener and stirred for several minutes. It's very watery to start with. I used a paint roller with 1/4" nap, made for smooth surfaces, to apply. I had a buddy use the roller while I poured the goop on the boat. It was 90 degrees outside at the time. We coated some of the dented areas heavier, so I'm sure this would cover the bottom of a 16'. I taped off the sides about 2" up to allow for the coating to cover the seams. Within 30 minutes it was tacky. In the morning (applied at 6pm), it was hard. It cures grey/clear. Overall the finished product seems very sturdy. I haven't taken the boat out yet, but I'm happy with the results for the cost of the product.
