I love vitamin K2 as MK-7 in soft gel form for bone building. I take a bone builder multi that includes k2 but often forget to take all the doses spread out through the day. So, I was looking for MK-7 to take as a supplement. This one is pricy but seemed to be just right for me. When I received the product, and looked at the bottle dosing, I saw that two gelcaps are required to provide the 180 mcg, not one. On the Amazon product info page no it says “180 mcg in a single soft gel.” I’m surprised they haven’t corrected this which is misinformation. If I wasn’t taking this only occasionally, and needed to take the two caps a day, the bottle would only be a 90 day supply which makes the price per dose high. I’m not sure if that’s a justifiable price as I’d have to go back and compare it to other brands. Aside from that complaint, the company seems reputable and the bottle was tightly sealed with good info on it including warnings about conflicts with anticoagulants. The gel caps are small, amber, and easy to swallow with no smell or taste.

Vitamin K is an important nutrient, but there are actually 2 forms: K1 and K2. K2 is the hardest to obtain naturally in your diet since it’s found in fermented foods like natto. But, it has many purported health benefits, so it’s important to get it even if you have to do it in supplement form (which is likely due to Western diets). Vitamin K is fat soluble so always take it with a little bit of food that contains fat. This is a good formula with a very bioavailable form of K2 (MK-7 (Menaquinone)). And, most importantly, you’re buying from a trusted company. Carlson has been in business for decades and is known for testing their products. It’s much better to buy supplements, which you’re putting in your body, from companies like this! The price is a bit high, but even if you take it daily, it’s a 6 month supply. Given that it’s fat soluble, you could probably take it every two or three days, making it closer to a year supply or more, which isn’t bad.

Additionally, I avoid A1 casein dairy, so cheese and other fermented foods aren't consumed frequently enough to ensure adequate intake. Vitamin K is crucial for teeth and bone health, and it prevents calcification of arteries and soft tissues. This is especially important when supplementing with vitamin D, as it helps ensure calcium is properly utilized in the body. This product includes vitamin K in its MK-7 form, which has a longer half-life in the body, offering higher bioavailability compared to other forms and requiring less frequent supplementation.
