Giro Unisex's Aerohead MIPS Aero/Tri Cycling Helmet

Fantastic helmet fits so well and really comfortable. Use for races in hot countries and the ventilation is great. Also having the visor come off and clip to helmet is easy to use when riding

Beautifully made, but has a dark visor and no clear one available. The dark one is OK on the track without trees but on the road on a dismal day or riding into the dark shade of trees you won't see those potholes and bits of branch in your path.

The Giro Aerohead MIPS is a superb bicycle helmet. By two orders of magnitude the best I've ever owned. It's light and fits extremely well. I hardly notice it being on my head; the main noticeable effect with the visor down is great eye protection. There's no drying of one's eyes from the cycling wind. The Aerohead is cool. I rode with it yday and today in 90 degree sunny weather and never felt hot. The airflow system works. Presumably, the Aerohead is indeed aerodynamic. Any objective exploration of aerodynamics in real-world conditions is an exercise fraught with complexity. Still. I ride a 2016 Lightning Phantom and a very much older P38/F40. So, SWB's with relatively upright seating position. I measured 0.5-1mph faster than usual on the Phantom on a known trail, on two consecutive rides. My P38/F40 aluminum seat is at a fabricator's for welding repairs of cracks. I will definitely try the Aerohead on the fully faired F40 as soon as I get the seat back; I expect its effects to be remarkable. (Keep in mind what 1mph really means. Air drag increases with the square of one's speed, and the power to overcome air drag increases with the CUBE of one's speed. For example, 22mph takes 15% more power than 21mph, for the same machine and rider. Conversely, one can decrease drag and go faster for the same watts output.) The visor feature on the Aerohead is a great idea. I've mostly ridden with it down over my eyes, with sunglasses on underneath. Yet more surface area protected from skin cancer! Yet the visor can be attached, via its very powerful magnets, to the helmet leaving one's face exposed. Might be cooler in extreme heat, and certainly useful if dusk descends towards the end of one's ride. This little beastie also looks RAD. Especially in white. Sort of a cross between an Imperial Storm Trooper helmet and a Ford Motor Company American Helmet Model No. 8. You may have to Google that last one ...

Für mich der beste Aero Helm ever! Ich habe einige vorher Probiert, aber dieser ist in Preis Leistung nicht zu schlagen. Super verarbeitet . Bei jeder Ausfahrt bringt er mir ein Lächeln ins Gesicht. Man hört nur noch das sorren der Kette und Felgen. Einziges Manko, Die Visiermagnete sind sehr stark , das Abnehmen ist gewöhnungsbedürftig.

Ich schreibe die Rezession aus einer Nischenzielgruppe: Frau, kleiner Kopf, Langdistanz: Beim ersten Bewerb merkte ich, ich hab mir eine falsche Größe gekauft, weil mir der Helm ständig vorne auf der Nase runterrutschte, und wenn er zu weit unten ist, wirds ein Traum, weil man sich selbst ins Visier atmet. Ich hab etwas gemacht, was man nicht machen soll: Ich dachte, so ein geiles Teil, da kann nichts schiefgehen und hab ihn im Bewerb das erste Mal getragen, zum Glück ein SuperSprint, weil ich mir den Helm in der Aeroposition ständig raufschieben musste oder am Nasenteil mit dem Zeigenfinger hielt, damit mit die Atemluft nicht reinkam. Das Problem war, ich war bei der Größentabelle genau zwischen S und M, genau die Zentimeter, wo es bei S anfängt und bei M aufhört und hab mir aus Unsicherheit M bestellt. ich glaube beim S wäre das nicht passiert. Ich hab ihm meinem Freund gegeben, dem passt er perfekt, der ist 190 groß, hat einen demtensprechend größeren Kopf (genaue Maße weiß ich nicht). Was für mich bei einer andren Marke besser ist: Die Belüftungsschlitze. Was mir bei dem Bewerb auffiel, es war eher warm und ich überhitze prinzipiell schneller als andere. Das war dann etwas "erdrückend" beim Fahren. Was ich mir in einer anderen, passenden Größe vorstellen kann: Nur für Zeitfahrrennen, ist er perfekt, weil von der Qualität, Passform (bei richtier Grüße) und dem großen Viesier, das schnell rauf und runtergeht, kann man nichts dagegen sagen. Wenn man Langdistanz macht und hinten drauf laufen muss und eher leicht überhitzt, würde ich persönlich zu größeren Lüftungsschlitzen raten.
