Great hitch cord!
I'll be using this with a Knut hitch on my hunting saddle when doing SRT tree climbing. This rope is nice and soft, Very easy to tie prusik hitches with. Its about the perfect length for a knut hitch above my ascender. Great rope for a secondary safety lock in case my mechanical ascender fails for some reason.

Excellent friction hitch that is releasable under load
The VT prusik is different from a standard prusik cord in that it can be loaded and still slid easily. For rescue work or tree work it is a must have. I would even recommend this as a back up above your device for rappelling with a heavy load. The stitching is done right, and it seems very well built. 10-1 safety rating with MBS of 2500 lbs SWL 250 lbs. Don’t cheap out on life safety equipment (yes you can find other brands from questionable suppliers cheaper), buy quality and don’t question if it will be good enough. This is truly the right tool for the job.

This is the way to go
If you're looking for a rappel backup or a progress capture on a hauling system, this is the way to go. SO much better than a standard 3-wrap prusik. Super light and extremely versatile - can be tied in a half dozen different ways, depending on what you're familiar with. I'd personally recommend learning the "XT prusik" version and using that configuration.

Peace of Mind
High quality cord. Bluewater ropes are good to go. Expensive but works great. VT are the way.

Excellent Product
Purchased for use on my rappelling line as a safety backup. Worked perfectly. Rope is of excellent quality and supple enough to easily tie a friction hitch. Secure and solid hold when weight is applied. Will definitely purchase another should I need another prusik rope.

Very useful, very flexible
For (rescue) rigging I wouldn't do much without this on my harness. Tied in a max-over-one or any other asymmetrical fashion they are terrific. I'll layout a few ways I use them. For descending you can honestly use this as a solo descent control device once you get the hang out of it. I've done in it short controlled bursts before, but an instructor mine dropped an atc and opted to rap several pitches with just his vt. It's the same device he still has on his harness. More typically I use mine to backup my atc, running it above the device as it's relatively easy to break it once it's locked. For general short tethering you can treat it like a fixed length runner/sling. For ascending it's certainly not as great as a handled ascender or something like a microtraxion, but given the very useful nature in other areas you're likely to rack in general and now you've got something for going up all the time. For a mechanical advantage progress capture I generally stick with a purcell prussik since it's easier to flip it back and forth from a lower to a raise system. But It's still a great progress capture and given how easy it is to break, you can make it work. The only caveat I'd have for them is that the "normal" size is specced by bluewater to go on things bigger than 8mm. If you end up needing to use this on something like an 8mm, typically a personal size carried by rescuers, make sure to get the smaller 7mm variant which is rated for 8mm ropes. I use the darker grey/black in 8mm, and the tan one for the 7mm. So I on my rack I know which one is which. It's a really useful tool that I'd imagine a lot of folks in professional rigging should be using. For ascending, they're terrific

Tree Climber Approved
I used the Bluewater Ropes VT Prusik for tree work. I use different climbing lines for different situations; but I typically use 8mm Bee-Line eye to eye tails/ prusiks for the climbing system. However, I have used an Aramid prusik in the past and I was very impressed. This VT Prusik was no exception. I have been using it for several weeks now and and it has not even begun to glaze. Of course I don't make a habit of burning out of tree canopies either. But that time includes setting chokers on a half dozen crane removals and the prusik remains flawless. The outer layer is soft yet strong and of course resilient to high heat. It knots easily and maintains its shape well. It grips the climbing line like a vice yet releases easily with moderate downward force. I should mention that I do not use the VT knot. Instead I swap between the Michoacan and the Distel and have excellent results. Pros: -Resilient to high heat (keep it clean) -Large Eye holes (easily accepts carabiner) Cons: The heat shrink portion (at the eyes) is very long and makes tying difficult. As a matter of fact, I had trouble completing the VT knot. But this is just a nuisance and not a deal breaker.

Buena calidad, en especial para hacer nudos auto bloqueantes en cuerdas mojadas, como en Valdostano
