Easy Setup with a Crisp Display
This camera was great. I ended up using it for a camera on the front of my truck as I can't see what is in front of me. The camera mounted super easy with two bolts on my license plate. It was easy to wire to the battery. It worked straight out of the box. I ended up have a lot of extra wiring due to the way I mounted it, but it was easy to zip tie to the engine to keep tucked away. The extra length will be nice if I ever decide to move it. The screen is clear even in dim lighting. It has the ability to connect 2 cameras, but I only have the one. It plugged in via a USB-A cable. Since I had a USB port available, it was easy to plug in. However, if not, I would have had to buy a two USB port charger, so I am not sure if I prefer the straight USB or the 12V charger. Overall, I like the quality of the camera. It has been great so far the past couple of weeks that I have owned it. The one thing I didn't like as much was a red light that stayed on on the monitor when plugged in. It would take forever to drain a battery, but as long as I drive on a regular basis it shouldn't be a problem.

The camera works well and the support behind it is excellent
I recently installed the Auto‑Vox 5‑inch backup camera (model XG‑W12) on my 2008 Ram truck with an 8‑foot bed and canopy, and I’m pleased to report that the camera works excellently. The installation process was straightforward, and the customer support I received made all the difference. I mounted the camera on the license plate bracket, then removed the rear taillight to connect the camera’s positive wire to the positive lead for the reverse light. After drilling a small hole, I attached the ground wire securely to the truck body. With the wiring complete, I plugged the power adapter into the cigarette lighter—but the plug didn’t light up, and the monitor stayed off. A closer look revealed that the spring at the tip of the power plug wasn’t functioning properly. I reached out to Auto‑Vox customer service and began corresponding with Kira. I sent her a description and a photo of the issue, and within a few days she arranged for a replacement power plug. The new plug powered the monitor immediately, but the camera still wasn’t displaying an image. Kira then walked me through how to test my wiring using a multimeter. She suspected a grounding issue, and she was right. I removed the ground connection, sanded the paint down to bare metal, reattached the wire, and confirmed a proper reading of 11.75V. After that, the backup camera worked perfectly. I’m happy to report that Kira provided outstanding customer service—clear, detailed, and genuinely helpful. Her guidance made it easy to resolve a couple of minor issues and get the system working exactly as intended. If you’re considering Auto‑Vox products, I highly recommend them. The camera performs well, and the support behind it is excellent.

Easy to install with a good picture.
I installed this camera on a 2001 GMC pickup truck and it works well. The monitor connects to the camera quickly and the picture quality is good. The transmitter is installed in the rear tail light housing and I was concerned that all of the metal between the license plate and cab would be a problem but so far no issues. I hard wired the camera to the fuse box and mounted the monitor on the dash so I can not comment on how well the stand works. This is a useful addition to an older truck.

Good product at a reasonable price.
Bought this camera to replace the AUTO-VOX backup camera I installed in my wife's 2006 Toyota Tundra which failed after many years of good service. The new camera arrived quickly and undamaged. Installation was easy, even though I did not remember details of how Toyota fastens the trim around the radio and environmental controls which needed to be temporarily removed in order to run wires inside the dash. I had fabricated a screen mount for original camera, which I preferred to the one supplied with the new camera as it minimized the visible structure on the glareshield. The new camera's screen is slightly larger than the old screen and the picture quality is much improved.

Great camera, Impressive customer service
I got this a little over a year ago now. I have a cargo box that mounts to a receiver hitch and it blocks the factory backup camera on my Grand Cherokee. So I got this to install on the cargo box and I can see behind me again. Due to the slightly different location of the cameras it takes a moment to get used to the scale of one vs the other, but it's quite functional. My only complaint is the mount. It's adjustable, and mostly stays, but occasionally I'll need to point it back up a bit and it's easily bumped down. I'm thinking of adding a dab of silicone behind it to help hold it in place but it's not be a real problem. Now, customer service: they surprised me. This company is in China. Everything is nowadays. A couple of months ago I was getting ready for a road trip so I tested my camera to make sure it still works. Again, it's mounted to the box so it only gets used when we use the box. At that time, it worked fine so I moved on with other prep. Come time for the actual trip and no camera. The screen would come on, it had power, but no image on the screen. Tried to re-pair the camera to no avail. This is the weekend before our trip, and literally a few DAYS before the end of the warranty. Now, FINDING the customer service email was interesting, but searching Google for AutoVox I found the company website and a Customer Support form on that website. I knew that I would be away from internet until after the warranty period expired but I tried anyway. They emailed me back, asking about symptoms. They mailed me parts to fix it after I got home, and when that didn't fix it they mailed me a whole new kit. That did fix it. They were friendly, courteous, and there was no communication barrier. Overall, this has been a really good little camera. Any product can have a malfunction. There are so many possible things to go wrong. But the way that they handled the problem, I will not hesitate to buy AutoVox products in the future.

Por ser inalámbrica, es mucho más fácil de instalar Podría ser un poco más grande la pantalla replicando un retrovisor.

I’m honestly amazed by how easy this backup camera was to install! The 2-step setup really is as simple as they describe — just plug the monitor into the car’s USB port and connect the camera to the reverse light. Took me less than 20 minutes, no complicated wiring or tech skills needed. The 1080P HD quality is excellent — super clear and sharp, both during the day and at night. The color night vision surprised me the most; I can actually see details in dark driveways that my old camera never showed. The wireless signal is strong and stable, no lag or freezing even in tight parking spots. It’s also completely waterproof (IP69K) — I’ve driven through heavy rain and muddy roads, and the view stays crystal clear. Plus, the custom settings like brightness, guide lines, and image flip make it really flexible for any vehicle. The customer support team is fantastic too — quick, friendly, and available anytime. Overall, this is an amazing value for the price — easy to install, reliable, and super clear quality. Highly recommend this for anyone who wants a stress-free upgrade to their parking and reversing setup!

Good price, and relatively easy install, with good functionality. The main draw however is Auto-Vox customer service - my DC plug developed a short, but customer service were quick to get a replacement sent out with no fuss. Sincerely appreciated and the new plug works great.
