Best thumb pick ever.
Fred K Slick Pick feels so natural, I forget to take it off after a gig. The shorter length is perfect for fingerstyle, not the awkward, alien feel of other brands. The shorter length really makes picking more accurate. Does not interfere with tone. Being female, I have smaller hands, and the Medium size is perfect... just tight enough and doesn't slip. Buy several... they are like socks, and magically disappear. I try to keep one with every guitar.

Good design.
I’ve been playing since the mid-70s. I started out then doing “Travis picking” with steel “National” fingerpicks. In the intervening years, I’ve tried various other kinds. Plastic picks, the wire-loop “butterfly” picks, etc. Even doing the James-Taylor type fiberglass nail wraps. These are pretty good. I ordered the medium size and they are a bit tight. But.. I immersed them for a minute or so in boiling water, stretched out a bit with a wedge (a pair of needle-nosed pliers) and then ran cold water over them. They took the slightly-larger “set” and now are more comfortable and still very secure. Tone is good, better than the rather sharp tone of metal picks. I bought the clear ones.... By most accounts the opaque models are very difficult to stretch/adjust.

The absolute best of the bunch.
These picks are great. Great tone, they sound much better than the scratchy sounding, long and thick competitors products. They come 8 to a package for the $8 bucks, not $8.00 each. I wear a size large in Dunlap white thumbpicks and a large in Planet Waves tortoiseshell picks. These picks in size medium/regular fit about the same as those. I also bought the the Fred Kelly size large in the orange, medium gage and they were too big. These picks have a shorter blade than most all of the other brands and I'm able to pick both up and down like a flat pick and strum. I have tried a ton of different thumpicks over the last few months and these are by far the best for me. FYI: You still need to personalize these: drop them in a cup of boiling water for a bit, shape them to preference, put it on your thumb and run it under cold water for a while to set the shape. Great product!

Great as a banjo thumb pick.
These perform exactly like I wanted them to. They are hard enought to use as banjo thumb picks without the bulk of other more known picks. They are not quite as large around my thumb as I need them to be but that is not the fault of the picks. Operator error!

Too tight. Too long
It’s very tight. I tried to widen it in boiling water. Didn’t work well and is a hassle. I had to trim and sand it like every other thumb pick.

Easy to use.
I adjusted to this pick in only a few minutes. It has brought out the sound of my acoustic parlor guitar. The fit is snug, as it should be, and comfortable.

Best thumb pick I’ve used
Wish I had started with these picks. Because the pick is shorter it just feels like I’m using my nail. I sent through many picks and this is what I’m going with. The Dunlop picks are just are too long and not as comfortable. I’m waiting on Black Mountain thumb pick to arrive so I can’t compare it to that or golden gate which I was going to try. Doubt I’ll look elsewhere unless Black Mountain manages to top these. Highly Recommended

I'm transitioning from bare thumb to thumb pick so I ordered Light, Medium and Heavy to experiment. The Heavy picks fit the tightest due to the thicker material but I may try heating it up to open the fit a bit. I had tried other thumb picks before and had to file down the pick as it stuck out too far for my taste. I did not have to do that with these picks. Overall, I'm very happy with the product and look forward to developing my skill using them.

Some say these Fred Kelly D2-M-8 Slicks are too tight but if so you can open them up by holding over a hot plate using pliers and gloves then bend them. I had to open these up a bit slightly tight and with the yellow large size Light guage large ones I had to close them down and sand the length of pick down. Some people say they used hot water to shape them but I found the hot plate worked better and these Fred Kelly ones are better than the Jim Dunlop ones. You get 8 picks so you can experiment to find what works best.

Compared to Dunlop Ultex picks these are more comfortable on my thumb. They work great with a slightly brighter sound. Glides from string to string nicely. Cheaper than the Dunlop ones and made in the USA👍

They work great, I thought the pick part was a little small, but I got used to it in about 10 minutes
