Product Great BUT Mfg. of bags GOOFED!
Product is great and will work perfect through-out the season as long as you follow the correct type and quantity at the correct time that is described by Scotts! The packaging IS ANOTHER ISSUE with the most resent order! I ordered two 15,000 sq. ft. bags. Each of the two bags were shipped in their own boxes. When the two boxes were opened both bags did not have a complete seal along the top corner of both bags. The bags during the fill process then get heat sealed and it was evident that the corner of both bags was not sealed but open. It was only one of the two bags that allowed a large portion of the material to flow out into the box and then when the box was opened it was all over the ground. Amazon C.S. after providing pictures had replaced one of the two bags.

A must have
If you live somewhere that has warm or hot summers, you have to use this. You can save on water, but what’s even better, it makes your grass look better. I apply this once in June, July, and August and my grass looks darker and greener every time. This keeps my lawn looking great and helps it easily survive the hot summer months. It doesn’t burn your lawn and is my go to fertilizer. Highly recommend.

Just don’t Put too much On
I live in the northeast and I’ve used the four different Turff Builder Scott products for years with decent results. The important thing to remember is just spread it according to the directions for your spreader. Some People that talk about their lawns that burn, must be putting too much down. I made the mistake once up pouring my bag into the spreader on the lawn and spilt a clump of it. Even after using a rake to try to spread it out and pick it up that small area of the grass burnt. Sometimes my lawn doesn’t get as green as I would like which again probably goes to the amount that I put on. Its great for keeping the weeds and the crab grass down which I hardly ever have any on my front lawns and on a larger rear 40 parts of my property where I don’t care about and don’t treat, I have a lot of it. The final treatment of Wintergard is always used before the snow flies.

Beware clumpy bags
I purchased online because it seems no one is stocking this in my area anymore. This product works good on chinch bugs and fertilizes at the same time. My only complaint is that one out of two bags i purchased was clumped and unusable in the spreader. To be fair it can be difficult to find good non clumped fertilizer locally because the big box stores don't always store it properly either. Needless to say, I had to return one bag.
