Q: What is the age range?

It works well for all ages. My 3 year old looks at the card when he is building and my 5 year old looks at the card for 10 seconds and then builds from memory. I suspect that the commenters who stated it would be too easy for a 5 year old have not tried building from memory - it's hard, even for the adults in our family!

Q: how is this different then the mental blox go game other than the size?

This comes with a set of activity cards :)
