i purchased this after things began re-opening in 2021 post pandemic closures, when i realised that my beloved local restaurant was using paper plates for all their service due to a shortage of staff to keep up with dishwashing, etc. we have a regular group luncheon weekly and the buffet service has remained all paper or plastic products ever since re-opening. it was driving me batty... so i bought this handy steel plate---it's light to carry (i bring it in and out of restaurants wrapped in a dishtowel tied neatly on top), holds an array of deliciousness, and is easy to wash up at home later. other customers seem generally intrigued and many have enquired where i got my plate as they covet one for themselves...the paper plates are not very aesthetically or functionally pleasing. the owners think it hilarious, but we are good friends and they make allowances for my eccentricities and eco-obsession. i do follow good hygiene protocol and visit the buffet only once, as required by state law and common sense, to prevent any chance of cross-contamination. frankly, as much as this plate holds, it would be gluttonous for me to contemplate a second pass through the buffet in any case. ;) i can see these being super useful for zero-waste road trips and picnics as well. and schools or daycare programmes that care about the environment could adopt these in place of disposable or plastic products, as could eldercare facilities and offices. they are not expensive, light in weight, easy to sanitise, and utterly indestructible.

I've been looking to consolidate my bowls when I make Tacos for dinner. This tray is perfect. Having to wash and put away SIX different bowls is too much work after the meal. I ordered the 6 different compartment version of the plate. It's easy to clean, the compartments are a good size. I use the biggest one for lettuce, the round one in the middle for sliced black olives, two of the remaining ones for grated cheddar cheese and the other two for sliced tomatoes and for minced onion. As you can see, if you are a taco afficianado, there's a space for all of it. I put the taco meat in a separate bowl and already have a tortilla warmer....so it's all good. I should have done this long ago. It's very handy!!

I got this to feed a litter of kittens. Little bit of wet food into each section kept them from fighting while eating. It’s heavy so it stays in place. Would probably be a really nice snack platter too.

Have a kiddo...or adult in that matter that doesn't want their food touching? We ordered this for my daughter and she cleaned up at the holidays! Nothing touches, the portions were perfect...winner!
