Beautiful and Fun
I bought these for my sensory bin. I ordered a lot (4 or 5 packs), not realizing that they expand in water, so I would suggest just buying 1 or 2 packs. These beads are colorful, squishy and fun to play with! However, be prepared to clean them off the floor! My students are preschool age and enjoy sensory materials like this, however once they realized these beads have a slight bounce to them... you can imagine what happened next. They are difficult to pick up off the floor and once they get stepped on, it's like jelly on the floor.

Great as a sensory bin for toddlers
We love water beads! My kid loves to play with them. They come in a tiny package with tons of beads. Add them to water and they swell up. They grow to about the size of a marble or a little smaller. The beads are delicate, if they get squeezed, they break into a ton of tiny little jelly pieces. The only thing I can compare it to is the jelly that is inside diapers when they break open. So they do make a mess if they are squeezed and broken. We still love them and I encourage my toddler to be gentle when playing with them. The best thing is that they will shrink back down and dry out. You can put them back into the bag to reuse another time!

Great attention getting for my hyper son
I purchased these for my 20 month old son. He is very active and always jumps around from one thing to another. It is near impossible to find toys that he will sit down and play with time and time again. I put these beads in a small plastic tub and he loves them! He has been playing with it every day for several months now. These have given me some time to relax while my son will run his hands through the beads. They feel really cool. The only problem I had was they get sticky after a month or so and I have to run them under water for a few minutes to try to clean off the slime. If your kid puts thing in the mouth this is not good. They beads break if squeezed but they are slippy and they are hard to squeeze. Highly recommend.

The great Jelly Massacre of 2014
This is one of those "great" ideas I had for a fun activity for my 4 and almost 3 year old. Yay sensory fun, woo hoo non-toxic, yay look at all those pretty colors. I thought they were amazing the first time we soaked them and had fun running my fingers through this giant bowl of jiggling marbles....Fast forward 2 days later when my kids realized they could squish them...and squish them they did. I had jelly bits from one end of my kitchen to the other, jelly in my toes, jelly on the table, jelly EVERY where. Imagine Dexter but instead of blood spatter it is little bits of jelly. This jellycidal rampage took place quickly and there were many casualties. So yes...this is fun...but be forwarned that cleaning up jelly spatter from places, you wouldn't even dream of can be one heck of a downer. Also side bar, after spending an hour in squished jelly trying to clean these up, my hands did start to burn a bit from the sodium.

These things are so stinking cute and fun! They come in a very small bag and they are teeny tiny little beads. It's quite fascinating to me that they grow to the size of a marble. I put them in a plastic container with a lid and occasionally got it out for the kids two play with. They would shrink some, but would grow again with more water! I tossed them in the trash after a few weeks. They did start to smell some, but it's probably because the girls hadn't played with them in a while. They do bounce like a rubber ball and you can easily have them all over the place, so I would definitely supervise with young children.

So simple but fascinated the kids for 2 days
Like most sensory play this got messy, but three year old twins were actively involved repeatedly for extended periods for 2 days. Could have gone on longer, but Grandma got tired of chasing small balls and water spills around the kitchen. These really expand as claimed on the package, so don't doubt them like I did and had to pull out a second container. They are bright, colorful, slippery, bounce, can be weighed in a balance scale, measured, scooped and poured. Small washable toys can be buried in them. And we have enough to do it all again another day.

lots of fun for preschooler
As described, lots of fun for preschooler. 2 drawback that I'm sure are inherent to this type of item are that they do break apart fairly easily, so if you pinch or play with them too hard, they crumble into many pieces = big mess for mom. Also, they took FOREVER to dry out and return to their original size. I spread them on a cookie sheet and it was many days (in the driest winter months) before I could store them. My husband suggested throwing them out, but that seemed a little wasteful for me. They did eventually dry out and seem to big ready for another use.

Love the colors and they are really fun
Love the colors and they are really fun... until they start falling apart and becoming a gross mess. I bought these because my son's preschool has some that he and his younger sister love to play with, but you can squeeze those ones hard and they never break. These ones that I am reviewing are not the same quality unfortunately... they split if you accidentally stab one with a fingernail. And my daughter thinks its fun to squash them... we don't play with them anymore. Hope to find some better quality ones.
