This worked right out of the box. It's lightweight and I appreciate the child safety feature. It goes through the sturdy Amazon boxes very easily and seems to hold a charge for a reasonable amount of time - it's hard to say, I don't have stacks and stacks of boxes to break down.

I bought this to assist with breaking down cardboard in our house and let me tell you it gets the job done! Came with an extra blade and tools to change it. Bonus is it cuts through most materials 6mm thick so plastic, carpet, PVC, cardboard obviously, and fabrics. The tool itself is build well and made nicely. You charge it for use. It does have a safety lock that can be pushed in from either side. This does have to be pushed in or pressed in order to pull the trigger to start cutting. It’s not foolproof as far as safety but it’s a little hard or challenging for a toddler to figure out however I wouldn’t leave it to chance. Great multi l use tool. May purchase as gifts for people this holiday season.

Works perfect for cutting up all the cardboard that’s been hanging around forever. Easy to use. The blades get dull pretty quickly though. Other than that pretty great tool.

At 79 years of age, cutting boxes with knives & scissors was the bane of my existence - sometimes taking hours due to the stack that accumulated. I read the capabilities of EVERY SINGLE ONE of the electric cutters Amazon sells and settled on this "Snapfresh" cordless. I am surprised at how easily this thing can slice thru cardboard...thick and thin! Obviously, 1/4" takes a little more 'oomph' but that's to be expected. I owe nothing to the company that makes these things; I'm simply happy with the cutter and believe anyone would be just as happy. My recommendation - buy with confidence!

This was my husband's favorite Christmas gift. He spent the afternoon slicing every empty box he could find. He has always been one to slice up boxes so you can fit more in the recycle bin, but this took made it easy and...dare I say...fun. Seriously, he was searching the house for more cardboard to cut.
