So I picked these up during Black Friday with a substantial discount. The initial set up was easy enough and l like the fact that these are usb type C powered. Although, it meant l had to go and buy a new powerbrick for them, but also I know that these extend the usability to PCs etc. Mapping the lights can be a bit cucumbersome if you got multiple Candies to setup, the easy map mode is probably the way to go for most people imo. The lights themselves are well made and although this is product is suppose to be rgb only, the lights can produce a white colour. The effects in the app are very entertaining but l haven't been able to figure out how to filter effects that work for this specific product. Sometimes you click on the effect and you will get an error message stating that the product isn't compatible. The only drawback, and for me it's a big one since it was the feature that caused me to buy it, the lack of integration with smart homes. I run mine on Google Home and the only functionality it has is to turn on and off, and change to a particular static colour. I have spoken to tech support at twinkly and they said there is no capability to change effects through Google Home. How can a product that costs nearly $100 not have this type of integration? I feel like it defeats the purpose of buying these. For comparison, l have $10 smart lights from Laser that l picked up at Woolworths and even they allow in their app to create scenes (equivalent of twinkly's effects) which then can be used in Google Home via a routine. I couldn't imagine paying full price for these and if you are looking for smart home integration beyond turning on and off, I highly suggest you look elsewhere. But if you don't mind a static colour or one particular set of effects (the device can store a certain amount of different effects on a playlist) to be used with your smart home. Then product meets those objectives.

I have a Twinkly tree and it is great. I ordered these and can't believe there isn't a way to plug them into power. I had a power bank that worked for about 20 minutes but they do not provide a component to plug them into to electricity. Returning.

These lights are beautiful the colors are amazing and motion or no motion I can see why their name is Twinkly. I’m amazed at all the options. These are beautiful string lights.
