I titled my review as is because I’ve had a great experience with the Surfer S2. We also own one of the in-pool under water AIPER robotic cleaners, and after using several other brands over the years, I can honestly say AIPER has been the best, the “Rolls Royce” compared to the others we’ve tried. Not in just their products but their customer service rocks, first hand experience when I called them, problem solved record time, not at all complicated, just all outright really GREAT customer service. What really stands out is reliability. Our in-pool Aiper cleaner doesn’t get stuck on the drains like other models we’ve owned, and even if it momentarily catches, it quickly frees itself without me having to grab a pool pole and intervene. The Surfer S2 has also been outstanding, it keeps the surface of our pool impressively clean, which is huge for us since we constantly deal with pine needles finding their way into the water. The solar panel design is also excellent. We get plenty of sun here in Southern California, and the battery has never run low, it just keeps going & going & going like the Energizer Bunny. Overall, I’m extremely happy with both AIPER products and will definitely recommend them to others. My hopes are that this review made you make your mind up on which Manufacture/Brand to go with. The Surfer S2 has been wonderful for me. It has performed as intended and it’s living up to all my expectations. I have a tree that sheds off all leaves during fall transition and the Surfer has been a great time saver picking up all that debris and leaves before they sink to the bottom of the pool. I love the scheduling feature as it allows to save on battery life for continued unlimited cleaning. I love that it picks up all size debris from leaves to worms and just about anything. Only one comment I have is that I have been seeing a decrease in cleaning capacity before charging the battery maybe due to the total winter months in my area ( we are getting a lot of the winter with very little sun and my two story house blocks the sun partially during the day). But other than I have to charge a bit more often, the product has saved me a lot from the burden of cleaning my pool surface. Thank you for a wonderful product.

Love the S2’s auto schedule feature - 3 hours cleaning, 3 hours stop - so I can leave it in the pool and only take it out to clean the filter. Super convenient especially since I can’t close/cover my pool, this definitely keep my pool clean even in the fall and winter time. And the plus point is Aiper’s customer service - they respond quickly whenever I have questions. Not many companies offer such good after-sales support. Better than my actual pool filter! I am blown away by the Surfer S2. After a full year of use, I can honestly say my pool surface has never looked better—it literally looks like glass. The filtration on this little robot is way more superior than I expected. It catches everything before it even has a chance to sink, which takes a massive load off my pool’s main pump and filter. It’s efficient, reliable, and worth every penny. Highly recommend!

***update - latest updates have really been troublesome for scheduling. I often find my skimmer off in Standby. Very poor programming. I told support that scheduling should just work no matter what time of day and they changed how it works. Schedule should work like most smart devices like on Smart Life app - if it's on during the range and there is an off time, it should turn off. Whoever in programming that thinks having scheduler and manual off should not work together is beyond me. Very frustrating. Not enough to ding the product but very very frustrating. The programming requires that scheduler turn the device on and not manual on. Otherwise, it will error out and turn the device into standby. I've tested it for weeks. And there is a time factor to consider. You can't have the skimmer running and turn on scheduler for tomorrow. Device needs to be in Standby for a certain time range for Scheduler to turn the device on and follow for the next day. Aiper support doesn't seem to notice there is an issue. They think sending back the device for warranty service is the fix. If I were rating this solely on that, I'd give it one stars. But since schedule is a fairly new function that worked fine for me for months till recent programming updates, I still think the skimmer is rock star without it! Disappointing otherwise. Overall, I'm very happy with the Aiper Surfer S2. First skimmer, but I feel stronglt that its made a huge difference in keeping my pool water cleaner. I'm rather surprised with what I see in the collection cup to be honest. We use the pool with that much dirt? The solar is great and the app control is a nice feature. I haven't tried any other skimmer but I'm sticking with this one. I hope to not experience the dreaded "stopped working" after a season that others have experienced. I use it daily. Sensors don't work well at night so I pull it out. The sensors aren't perfect so I've had to our something on my spa wall to help. It leans slightly backwards but that doesn't affect it. I have gone to turning off my pool pump 6 days a week and just run this and my robot pool vacuum. Saves on electricity. It is kinda pricey, but again I think the app control more than makes up for it. Especially when it gets stuck on the spa wall and you're upstairs watching from a window. It's actually so relaxing to watch it work. Easy to clean, though be careful of jamming your finger pulling out the filter box. At first I thought a completely closed filter box was overkill but it's nice to not have any of the first go back into the pool when you're pulling the unit out. Wish it was slightly faster, but it does a great job. I like when it finds itself running the entire perimeter of my pool, in either direction. Solid build. No regrets. Fingers crossed!

The cleaning heads offer surface and side scrubbing actions. The robot also sucks in small to medium sized debris with ease. As scene on the pictures above the bottom roller treads are suction based and offer a smooth transition from floor to walls. Without damaging you're pools cover. The recharging receptacle is fully inclosed in a water tight gasket preventing any leaks and potential moisture damage. The large detritus basket is easy to remove and features micro mesh technology. Specifically used in manual mode when performing backtracking maneuvers. The other version would sometimes spit out leaves and other particulates. Thanks to this welcome upgrade that is a thing of the past. Cleaning modes: There are 2 cleaning modes to choose from. Auto, and manual. 1 Auto Mode cleans the entire pools surface..then docs the vacuum close to the edge for easy access. 2 Manual mode: Allows you to control the robot directly via the app. You can guide it's path in real time. In use: I have tested this unit for the past 2 months without any hiccups. It has been consistently good and does it's job with minimal effort. I have tested in in my own above ground circular pool and my sisters in ground rectangular pool. It performed great in both circumstances. Offering the same level of leaning power. For all the good there was a handful of times that the robot got confused on my sisters regular stairs. After turning it off then back on it worked fine after recalibration. Since this is a battery operated machine it takes it's time and might be a bit slow for some users. Cleaning my sisters 28L buy 10W foot pool took almost 1h50mins. This included the walls and surface. In my modest 24 foot above ground pool it took 1hour. Witch is pretty good especially considering, I only had to empty the basket once. In the fall it needed more frequent emptying around 2 to 3 times per use. Since I have many trees on my property. . The unit also charges in the sun offering a constant cleaning solution with even less fuss. This is especially true if you have no trees in you're yard. Yet with the constant shade my unit needed to be topped up at the end of a hard days work. Final thoughts: If you are looking for the robot that could. I received it earlier in the Summer, and it's done a fantastic job throughout, but in the fall is where I'm really reaping the benefits. My neighbour has some deciduous trees, and it's one the the earliest to drop it's leaves. We have still had some really warm days so I'm hesitant to close the pool. This Beast has been great at scooping the surface garbage before it goes underwater. The sun isn't as strong as in the height of summer, but the panel gets enough to keep it going. The skimmer is relatively easy to handle and scoop out of the pool. Emptying the filter is also easy. I don't use the Bluetooth, and it does a great job getting around the pool and hitting all the spots.

This thing keeps my pool so clean with barely any effort. It runs quietly, charges on its own, and the app support makes it easy to monitor. I didn’t expect to love it this much, but I do.

I’ve only ever used another brand of premium pool cleaning robots, but am pleasantly impressed with the quality of this unit. It’s very light and works very well even in tight spaces. The unit is very easy to clean and I am very happy with the Aiper brand. The app was easy to setup and we have had no issues with this unit so far. Very good value for the price.
