Good, but it's an acquired taste type product...
What can I say, I wanted to like it. I really tried, I ate all four packs.. Tried a few different recipes, but in the end I concluded that ham preserved in this fashion was an acquired taste built upon repeated exposure to this product or ones like it, but just not for me even after 4 packages.... I gave the product 5 stars because the issue is me...

Country Ham Packs
Excellent quality and a good value for the money. Does not require refrigeration. The size and thickness are perfect for biscuits. I like the fact that I don't need to buy the whole ham. I with they sold the hocks

The Real Deal - this is the country ham to buy!
I grew up in North Carolina. Moved all over the US for my career, settled in Omaha, Nebraska. There is no country ham within 500 miles of here, so I ordered Ray's to try it out. That first ham biscuit took me right back home - this is full of good old Southern flavor! To those who don't know the difference, country ham is cured with salt and it has a chewier texture than city ham. Slap a couple pieces on a homemade biscuit and you'll never be the same again. Absolutely will buy this again and again, thank you to Ray's for such an outstanding product!

I’d find another source for country ham.
There was something wrong with this ham. It looks like fresh meat through the package but it smelled like rotten meat. Once I opened one of the packages, the odor fills the room and was quite unpleasant. Before the oven could preheat, my kids came from the other side of the house complaining what is that smell. It’s hard for me to describe but my kids said it smelled like a fart and a burp combined. I like sardines and other odd foods so I said sometimes odd smells don’t equate to bad flavor. I cooked in the oven according to the directions and tried a bite. I was wrong. The meat was obviously bad and I should have stopped before cooking it. For the price you pay per pound there should be a return policy and the product should be up to a certain standard. I will attempt to eat the other two packages in the box but I’m thinking it may be more of the same. I’ll update this review if I find the other two packages prove to be better quality.

Love my country ham biscuit!
When I moved North, I could no longer find country ham at the grocery store. This was very good country ham, and I'll be ordering it again!
