High quality ax
This is a solid Ax. Very sturdy and well made. Great addition to my collection!

Not a great carpenters hatchet out of the box, doesn’t compare to my Estwing
Certainly useable upon receiving it, but the wedge needs to be narrower and the blade angle is just wrong. The shape of this is well suited to splitting firewood, so do purchase it if that is your intended purpose, but not for carving or planing as it needs to be held at too much of an angle to scrape off wood. The hammer shape is acceptable. I prefer my lighter Estwing but the weight is listed in the title, this has no bearing on my review, but the weight is well suited also to splitting firewood. All in all, I would use this only for the roughest carpentry tasks out of the box. I purchased this with the intent of modifying the handle to fit a custom tool box which was impossible with my Estwing as it has a steel handle. Once I modify the head shape and blade angle I think it will make a fine hatchet, however.

Good quality for the price
Used heavily from the get go. Even after I hit some harder pieces the wood (oops) it still held a decent edge. I have not resharpened it yet, but if when I do, I will update on how well it goes.

Great for a Lizzie Borden Axe Replica
The axe is good quality for the price. I actually bought it due to its closeness to the alleged tool used by Lizzie Borden. My forensics students thought it was neat, as well.

Nice little axe, good for work and for throwing.
In my search to find an axe that would fit my needs throwing I tried this one out. I liked the quality, they feel and the durability. It was just not a great fit for me in my throwing pursuits. But for the money give it a shot if you are looking to get started throwing axes. The thin blade and balance of the hammer on the back help it sink into the wood, so if it feels good in your throwing hand give it a shot

Purchased this with the intention of throwing
Handle was not very sturdy. Axe head is incredibly sharp out of the box. Handle shattered after about 50 throws. Nice throwing axe for the price but don't expect it to last forever.

So recently I’ve gotten into axe/hatchet throwing because of the Rec room. My friends and I have all been going so often that I figured it would be more cost efficient to just buy one. After doing some research this one stuck out for being the best all round hatchet for my budget. Lots of reviews said you’d have to replace the handle, but for my friends and I in the backyard, no replacement was even necessary.👌🏼 Now we’re all saving money just by throwing it at my backyards tree!! Rip the tree though, hope the government doesn’t mind too much 😂

I purchased this hatchet as a competition throwing axe in the NATF. It was a tad dull when it arrived, but nothing that couldn't be fixed easily. My average improved by almost 8 points when I started using this axe. Maybe it's coincidence and I just got better. Or maybe it's a better axe than I was previously using. It throws well and holds an edge like a champ. It's a nice piece of equipment and I don't see myself going back to my old axe unless it's an axemergency.

Received a Vulcan Brand. Unknown wood handle. Dull as a butter knife. Took a while to Sharpen, do to so much powder coating. After a bit got the result I wanted. Upside. Fast delivery
