Can someone please tell me if the magic spoon is using a magnet to change the food?

It is not magnetic but instead when put in the slot on the toy it changes to that food, I love this super cute feeding set!

Why is this selling for twice as much as the manufacturers suggested retail price?

we have to find them (not an easy task) then buy them - then ship to amazon - then pay huge fees to sell them - just so people that cant find them can still have access to them - so there ya go - id say if you can find them buy it retail

Does the spoon use a magnet in order to change?

If it does it is not visible to the naked eye and is hidden inside the spoon. The spoon has a head that rotates 360degrees. It is divided into 1/3s and has food on each of three sides. When it is dipped into the food bowl it spins based on the side that it is dipped into. My daughter loves it.
