Easy to set up. Tracks perfectly.
I love this GPS tracker! I’ve been looking for one for quite awhile because I take care of my dads dog frequently and he is always worried I’m going to lose him, especially since I let him go off leash at the park sometimes. A lot of other trackers have monthly fees of some sort so I picked this one. It works amazingly. I had my dad download the app and log in so he can always see where Tycho is. The battery lasts a long time. I left it on all day with no problem. The app itself was difficult to figure out at first but once I got the hang of it, it worked well. I’m going skiing tomorrow with my friends and I’m excited to test it in the mountains!

Disappointed
I just received my trackers & I'm not able to get most of the functions to work. I'm running Android 8.0.0. The gotele shows a solid blue light on both devices but the app says "No GPS found" when you select "Start" & when you select "location" it says "Waiting for local...". If SOS is pressed on the device that light starts flashing but nothing else happens. I can't get maps to load but that is probably because location isn't working. The only feature I can get to work is texting but the app has to be open with the screen on or the message doesn't come through & you'd never know I've was sent.I've used two different Android devices & have the same issues with both.

A must for spotty cell phone areas!
To say this is easy to use is an understatement! I was immediately impressed with the lightweight and portability of this device. Now I’m going to admit right when I bought it I was thinking did I really need this. My wife asked the question as well. After one use in spotty cell phone coverage areas the answer I find myself answering is yes. We have a lot of spotty cell area when we go hiking in wooded areas here in Iowa. We go as family and usually two groups of 5. Nice thing is this just connects to your phone via Bluetooth. Install the app and you are off and running. I’m not the most up to date with a lot of technology so I really was worried I wouldn’t figure this out. But it wasn’t hard, and it worked great. Happy with my purchase!

Outstanding Product but a few major issues
We used these to track contestants during the first Grunt Proof Survival Games. It's an awesome idea but here are the issues we found.Pros:1. No SIM or mobile network needed! No other company is doing this.2. We created a group to see where all personnel were3. Reliable battery and tough device4. Decent signal range in the mountainsCons:1. I have to re-pair them every time I turn them on2. To can add unpaired devices to a group, but to customize the device, it must be paired to a phone. Why not allow multiple devices to be paired to one phone?3. Sometimes pairing does not work, even with the devices nearby.4. 1 device failed and despite multiple resets, never worked again.5. Extremely buggie app with limited control. It draws tracks constantly, filling up the screen with bright colors. The user should have the opportunity to turn this off.6. Very poor support. If the support even returns your email, they won't be very helpfulExcellent idea, ok devices, but poor execution. This product could rule the market of only they would listen to their customers.

A good device that does what is expected
I purchased this device (2 units) to possibly replace my current tracking system for my dog. We hike every morning with our Whippet, she is a hunter and is fast, sometimes she will be right next to us and then 3 seconds later she's 200 yards off chasing a squirrel or a deer. Our current setup is a Garmin Astro 420 with a T5 micro tracking collar used for hunting dogs. It works very well, but is quite large for her size. When I saw this system, I thought that this would be much better for her because of the size of the transmitter devices.I would definitely recommend this device to people that are hiking and want to keep track of each other on the trails and communicate to each other, it supposedly allows for SMS messaging between devices when correctly connected to your smartphone. This is particularly useful in an area without cell services. For my purposes it does not work well. My review:Construction:Good:These devices are solidly built. It is compact and light weight. It looks like it can withstand a lot of bumps and bruises as well as a fall.Needs Improvement:It needs more ways to strap the device to your equipment. It currently has one location with a velcro strap that you use to strap the device to your equipment. If the device has four locations to strap it down so you could use velcro or zip ties.Use as GPS tracker:Good:The devices hook up very quickly and you can see them on the app in relation to each other and it works well with google maps. You will have to download maps for use offline if you are traveling to areas without cell reception.Needs Improvement:The devices rely on your personal smartphone for tracking. While this is good for cost efficiency and for not having to carry another device, but what it saves in money and carried weight, it costs in battery life, it drains your cellphone battery at a good clip, bluetooth connections eat energy. After a 1 hour hike my battery was depleted 18%. An all day hike will kill the battery, which is ok if thats all you need it for, but If you need it for communication you best pack a spare battery charger. The app currently has no way to direct one user to another through a "goto" function. There are no distances from one user to another, it could use a function that tells you how far away one user is from you.The App:Needs Improvement:This is the single point of contention that I had with these devices. The app seems like it was put out well before it was finished, while it works as you may need it to track the devices, it is barely functioning when it comes to setup and user friendly usage. The setup process was ok, it found the devices and registered them with the app, but it was not for the technologically challenged. Trying to make changes to the device information within the app was difficult and not intuitive. The geofence function kept failing after 10 seconds, there are a set number of radius that are available, it would be nice to have a manually input geofence radius.Overall:This is a solid device for hiking off grid away from cell service areas. It tracks the users in relation to each other and does a fairly well job at that. Used as a device for tracking your dog, it can be used if you don't need precise information. This would be way better if they made a hand held device that was used as the base unit that could track and act as a primary GPS with navigation assistance, waypoint management and tracking capabilities. IF they made these to work with my Garmin handheld, this would be a perfect win. the individual devices weigh less and are smaller than my current tracking collar, but it needs some improvement.
