Excellent Leak Detection System — Reliable and Easy to Use
Excellent Leak Detection System — Reliable and Easy to Use I purchased the Hub + 4 Leak Sensors to monitor areas in my townhouse that are prone to moisture issues—under the HVAC unit, washer/dryer, refrigerator, and in the basement. After using them, I’m extremely impressed. Here’s what stood out: 👍 Easy Setup The installation was quick and straightforward. Each sensor paired with the hub without any trouble. 📱 Convenient Remote Monitoring The app makes it simple to check all sensors from anywhere, which gives me real peace of mind when I'm not home. 🚨 Accurate Alerts and Great Sound Quality The sensors react immediately to water. I had a real incident where my heating system’s pump failed on a very cold day. The device detected the leak instantly, and the app notification prompted me to call the HVAC technician before the situation worsened. Compact but Powerful The sensors are small enough to fit into tight spaces while still delivering strong performance. Their size makes placement very flexible. Overall, this has been a fantastic investment for protecting my home. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a reliable leak detection system.

Simple, reliable, and worth It for the peace of mind
I bought this leak starter kit after dealing with a small leak under the sink that turned into a big cleanup job with a new cabinet...lol. I wanted something simple and reliable this time, and so far this system has been exactly that. Setup was super easy. I plugged the hub into my router, opened the app, and it basically did the rest. Each sensor paired with one button press. I had everything installed in maybe 10–15 minutes for entire house. What I like most is that these don’t depend on Wi-Fi. I’ve got one sensor tucked behind a toilet, another under the kitchen sink, and even one in a spot where my Wi-Fi normally dies... and every sensor still connects with no issues. I tested all four sensors with a damp paper towel, and they alerted instantly. I get notifications on my phone and email, which is great for when I’m not home. A big plus for me is the battery life. These use simple AAA batteries, but they’re supposed to last years, not months. And the app actually shows the battery level for each sensor, so you’re not guessing. It’s nice to know you won’t get blindsided by a dead sensor right when you need it. The sensors feel solid and the app is straightforward. Honestly, this setup has already given me more peace of mind than anything else I’ve tried.

Peace of mind
This is a great product! RARELY, almost never, do I submit product reviews. However, I purchased the YoLink kit to monitor the home while I am away for an extended period. I received an alert on a water leak to my 2nd floor HVAC unit, and was able to quickly mitigate the issue. I just bought a second kit to monitor a second home. Simple, easy, and effective!

Best water leak sensors for a great price
The YoLink Water Leak Starter Kit (Hub + 4 Sensors) is a top-tier choice for reliable, long-range flood protection. Core Benefits Extreme Range: Uses LoRa technology to maintain a connection up to 1/4 mile away, making it perfect for basements or detached garages where Wi-Fi fails. Offline Reliability: Devices can pair directly (Control-D2D), meaning the sensors can trigger a siren or shut-off valve even if your Wi-Fi or internet goes down. Battery Life: Sensors typically last 5+ years on two AAA batteries, significantly outperforming competitors. Easy Setup: Features "Scan & Play" QR code integration via the app for near-instant pairing. Key Features Sensor 4 Upgrades: Includes a built-in 105dB alarm on the sensor itself and a freeze warning alert. Notifications: Supports push alerts, emails, and limited free SMS; integrates well with Alexa, IFTTT, and Home Assistant. Build Quality: Sensors are IP66-rated waterproof, so they continue to function even while submerged.

Fantastic range. Works well notifying my phone.
Great renge far more than a household wold need. I work in wireless systems engineering so I decided to see how good teh range was. Note that the RF signal is reported in dBm. The "m" means dB with respect to 1mW +3 dB is a factor of 2x -3dB is is factor of 1/2x 6 dB a factor of 4, 10dB a factor of 10. so 30 dB is factor of 1000 FACTOR= 10^(dB/10) So a signal of -50dBm is 100x stronger than -70dBm. In free space with nothing in the way, every time you double the distance between Hub and sensor, you will see 6 dB (factor of 4) signal drop. Inverse square law. For this device, You need better than -100 dBm for super reliable connection but it will work even down at -115dBm with the odd error (missed report) . In my house, it measured better than -40 dBm anywhere. First test was with hub at one end of house and sensor at other end of house 75 feet away. Worked anywhere in house and out in garage more than 75 feet away. It even worked in a refrigerator 75 feet away but the signal was dropped by 12 dB compared to being outside of the refigerator. Note that if you seriously want to use in a refigerator of freezer , you need to get spcial batteries that work in the cold,. i.e. not alkalines. So to really challenge it Idid a couple more tests leaving the hub indoors. Note that outside the house is a serious challenge because the house is stucco and has chicken wire in the walls that block RF signal. As fyi, cell coverage inside is spotty. 1. Out in my yard ~ 100 feet from the house I have an irrigation valve that sometimes does not get shut properly. Great spot for a sensor. This location tested fine. 2. Testing for long range: Left the hub indoors at far end of house and put the sensor on dashboard of my car some 85 feet away and wored fine. 3 Drove ~ 1000 feet down eh street adn wored fine wieh direc path clipping through several (stucco) homes and some foliage. Signal -85 dBm. Rock solid reporting. 4. Drove in a side street at 100 feet distance. So 2 side streets (5 houses and foliage ) between hub and sensor. Signal leve at -110 to -115 depnding on where the car was. Gget noticable mised packets below -115 dBm. So I am super impressed are the range/reliability given the cost. The sensors are really solid (well made). I have not yet tried to set up Alexa to report. Note that if doing leak detection and you have a situation where the leak may appear anywhere around an appliance (water heater) or along a window , roll up paper towel long ways 2 or 3 sheets long and then flaten to a ~ 6-8 layer strip. i.e. make a mutilayer long strip. Place the sensor in the middle of the strip. If any water gets to any part of the strip, it will creep to the sensor by capilary action and trigger your alarm. Will add the 5th star when I get Alexa working.

Reliable Leak Detection for Total Peace of Mind
Really happy with the YoLink Water Leak Starter Kit! I’ve been using this setup for more than 6 months now and couldn’t be happier with the results. The real-time alerts through the app provide great peace of mind, especially when I’m away from home. On top of that, the device itself sounds a loud alarm when it detects a leak, so you’re still alerted even if you miss the app notification. Setup was easy and it has been working reliably since day one. Highly recommended for anyone looking to protect their home from water damage.

Work really well
I bought these sensors, for some peace of mind. I wanted to buy ones that had long range, and as I have heard from other reviews and articles, this LoRa technology promises, exactly that. The hub was easy to add to the app, and then leak sensors themselves were even easier to add; all I had to do was push a button at the bottom, and they were immediately discovered by the hub. From there, it was relatively simple to add them into Home Assistant. Although this took a couple of tries. So far, in a couple of weeks that I have owned them, connectivity has remained rock solid. If this continues to be the case, I think I am going to splurge and buy their local hub. Although it costs $200, it allows for 100% local control and management of the sensors, without the need for the cloud, which I really appreciate, as I try to make sure that all my smart devices are locally controlled. All in all, I find this sensors to be a good purchase, and their reliability so far gives me peace of mind that they will work if and when I ever need them to.

Easy install and reliable.
The YoLink Water Sensor and Hub kit is a total game-changer for anyone who loses sleep over the threat of water damage. The setup was incredibly easy and intuitive, and the system has worked flawlessly, already saving me from two potential disasters by alerting me to minor leaks under my sink and behind my fridge. It also integrated well with my Alexa’s across the house. Having this reliable, early-warning system in place has finally given me the peace of mind to stop stressing about hidden leaks.
