I am not a “melanin king” but i liked the all natural ingredient list and have tried pretty much every other beard balm in search of the best one. This one is on the more thick and viscous side, and if you dont use too much it actually blends into your beard pretty well, a lot better than most other brands. I find that pretty much all beard balms for me are too visually noticeable to use in the daytime unless you barely use any- so i actually like to put them on before i go to bed as more of a conditioner, and this worked well in terms of how it makes my hair feel, its actually one of the best beard balms ive ever tried which makes my next qualm such a downer because it really is such a detracting factor in using this stuff for me- The worst part about this is the smell which really permeates and lasts in my beard- i have come across quite a few balms that had a scent which i didnt love, but this may be the worst, it does not smell like sandalwood and has an accord that smells both like vintage grandmotherly perfume and i was trying to put my finger on what it reminded me of and then it hit me- this smells like a urinal cake. exactly like that, no exaggeration. I actually like vintage perfumery so for me to diss this scent bc of that resemblance is a feat… i would definitely not wear this during the day or recommend it for that reason, but if this brand has similar products with a different scent profile then opt for one of those instead (edit: to my knowledge they dont have a different scent profile beard balm which is unfortunate)

The scent alone is worth it but the effects add so much more. This product will give the appearance of more volume to your beard and is strong enough to defeat the heat and humidity of Florida summers. That is no small boast and ensures that no weather can harm the effects. I heard that it encourages growth as well and doubted the claim because they all say that. Surprisingly it did cause the thin side of my beard to thicken and match the other side. I don’t even use Melanin Kings daily so I am truly impressed. Natural, masculine scent, effective and hair growth, this is a game changer.

Love the smell. Keeps the beard moisturized, makes the beard soft and effective enough to keep the beard tame.

I can't wait to buy another one. It is really nice and make beard feel soft and shiny but not greasy.
