I think these tests are accurate. Here’s my exact experience. For reference, I am a 120 lb, 5’6” woman, small frame with pristine liver enzymes prior to this recent binge. Also, prior to the binge, I hadn’t had any alcohol for 3 months and just had blood work done a couple weeks ago to confirm my liver health was all good. I started drinking on a Thursday morning and drank excessively from morning thru each night until I stopped Monday at 1pm. I was drinking up to twelve Vodka 7% coolers a day. Needless to say, significant withdrawals set in on Monday night. I was required to test at the lab on Wednesday at 4pm. Beginning Monday at 1pm thru to Tuesday night, I drank approximately 8-10 gallons of black decaf iced coffee a day and took B12 vitamins and an iron supplement. Yeah, seriously 8-10 gallons. On Wednesday I drank just one half gallon of iced black decaf coffee because I didn’t want my urine too diluted as that could trigger a fail. Test strip on the left is my test after 36 hours of no alcohol. Test strip on the right is my test after 48 hours of no alcohol. My lab tested me on Wednesday at 4pm. I passed. I would highly recommend drinking massive amounts of fluids up until the day before your lab test to flush out as many metabolites as you can. Also up to approximately 4 hours before my lab test, I only drank probably 4 cups of black coffee, so my urine had a decent colour. By the way, that amount of black decaf coffee will give you massive diarrhea but I just suffered through that because I hate the taste of plain water or soda or juice even more. Plus I stayed at home throughout the whole process so that helped. Naturally, I was still freaking out up until the lab test results came back. Honestly, I really hope I never do that again. It was so stressful and not worth that lame binge. I hope this helps someone. Good luck.
