Made a moss bowl and everyone loves it. They think it is alive!

I didn’t expect to fall in love with moss, but this bundle from Prefleur is pure enchantment. The texture is so lush and pillowy I couldn’t resist pressing it to my cheek—and yes, it’s that soft. It feels like nature’s velvet, like something sacred and ancient that wants to be held. I’m using it in ritual vessels and protest pieces, and it’s perfect for layering symbolism into my work. The color is a deep, grounded green—no artificial shine, just quiet magic. It arrived well-preserved, with no crumbling or odor, and it’s held up beautifully in my studio. If you’re crafting with intention—whether for celebration, remembrance, or resistance—this moss is a gentle, grounding companion. I’ll absolutely be ordering more. .

I use this moss to keep humidity up in my reptile enclosures. It’s super soft, but wear gloves when first working with it because this moss can stain the skin yellow or green. It’s harmless, but if you like clean fingers & nails—save time by handling this moss with gloves when building your bio-active reptile enclosure. Or live vivarium, fairy garden, etc. This moss is extra versatile—perfect for gardening nerds or exotic pet keepers. The quality is excellent, and the quantity is well-worth the price. Its ease of use is simple—breaking up easily to be applied to a thin layer of waterproof silicone caulk for vertical application. (Be sure to let the enclosure you’re building cure and air the silicone fumes out for *at least* 24 hours before introducing your intended resident into their new home.) This soft moss is a perfect finishing touch, perfect for making a beautiful microcosm of a humid environment for yourself or animal friends. If you work with live plants (and/or animals that rely on them,) I highly recommend this moss. Though I do not recommend this moss for any animal that requires drier, arid climates. The moss will retain moisture for nearly indefinite periods of time. So even if you rarely water it, it can survive. And there’s no undesirable odor, either. The natural smell of the moss will blend seamlessly with the other live plants you are working with. I’m new to building bio-active reptile enclosures, but this moss is definitely a favorite of mine now.

Overall great product, relatively high quality and very natural appearance. As other reviews have stated, you need to handle with gloves because they the green color does bleed a lot…hands, clothes, work surface and it’s very hard to get off. A few pieces were not of usable quality.

Some of the reviews for this product had me concerned that it wasn’t worth buying. I took a chance and I’m glad I did! The amount in the box was more than I thought it would be and I was able to do two centerpieces. I don’t understand the smell people are talking about. It’s moss! Yes, it’s real moss so it smells like moss but it’s not overbearing. The colors are rich and there is a variation to the colors, which I love. Thank you! This was a great buy!

The product did arrive on time, but overall I am very disappointed. The color is so bright it looks fake. The pieces of moss were broken into random straight sided pieces that crumble apart. I was expecting the pretty mounded looking pieces of moss, but the tops were squished. Some pieces were so bad that I couldn’t tell which was the top. In my opinion this moss could not be glued onto a vertical surface as it would crumble and fall off. I sort of destroyed it just by gently handling it so I can’t return it. This will most likely end up in the garbage. Also, the inside of my nose feels like I’ve been breathing in something I should not have been.

The moss pillows arrived dried but in a unnaturally green state (compared to other moss purchased from other sellers). It turned out that the moss was dyed!!! My fingers and hand turned green from handling them. Luckily the dye washed off with soap. I am waiting to see if the moss will become alive tomorrow. Since the moss is dyed and since there was no information on what dye was used, I would not use this product in a terrarium with live animal such as amphibians or turtles or fish or lizards. We have no idea if the dye will be toxic to animals. I wish the seller would disclose upfront about the dye and provide more info. Other than the dye issue, the moss pillows look great. Let's hope they live.

I just got my green moss delivered a few hours ago and I was finally able to finish this project. I’ve never worked with moss before so it was a bit of a learning experience for me. But I was able to break up the pieces and use them in smaller pieces and I really liked the flexibility of it. This project turned out the way I was hoping and I will plan on buying this product again because the QUALITY was perfect and the packing of the moss was excellent ! Definitely a superior product !!

Although, it is relatively costly for the amount you get. If you have a big pot like mine, I recommend filling it first with bubble wrap or cardboard, and then use the moss to decorate the rest.

Looks really great, however be aware if you have a quartz or marble countertop as it can easily get stained by moss, part of this I recommend

The moss is nice but the way it was packed in a plastic bag made it break in pieces because it was all cluttered on top of each other
