Works on my DeWalt DW745 table saw
This item arrived promptly and is as described. No terminals were supplied with the component. I used two pairs of red blade terminals, one triple Wago connector, a short additional length of blue wire and some insulation tape. The module can be installed without cutting or damaging the existing wiring. Once fitted to my DeWalt DW745 Type 4 job site table saw, it did 'what it says on the tin'. Start-up is now much smoother. Installation is easy but involves modification to mains electrical wiring and should be undertaken by a suitably qualified individual.

Doesn't work with DeWalt DW745 table saw
Just like another revier experinced. I connected this to my Dewalt DW745 table saw. It starts up slowly, but cuts out before getting to full speed, so the saw becomes unusable. Saw works fine again when connecting back up without the soft start module. So this item clearly isn't compatible with DeWalt table saws.

Great Soft Start Module – Be Careful with Installation!
The eMagTech Electric Tools Soft Start Module (16A 3600W) is a fantastic addition for tools like table saws, miter saws, and angle grinders. It works perfectly and helps reduce the sudden jolt on startup, making tools easier and safer to handle. Compatible with big brands like Makita, Dewalt, and Bosch. One important note — don’t cut the wrong wires during installation! Take your time to double-check everything, as incorrect wiring can damage the tool or the module. Once installed properly, it works like a charm. Highly recommended for smoother tool operation!

Good way to make power tools spool up on start up
Lack of instructions loses this item 1 star but its easy enough finding YouTube videos that show how to install it. I bought this for my table saw which goes from zero to like 10,000rpm in a split second, something I've always found very unnerving. If like me, you feel like your power tool is trying to kill you then this is a really good way to make it feel far less aggressive on start up. With this installed, the tool reaches full speed in about a second which doesn't sound like much but it does make a big difference.

All round savings now starting smooth, no more banging or blowing a fuse.
Follow installation instructions online carefully and you wont go wrong, I chose to use crimp spade connectors on the wires after watching a video and all went well, my table saw starts up smoothly now and pleasure to use.

Not as described and does not work
Supplied item was not as pictured and did not work, machine starts but then stops running after a few seconds. The faulty item has a black plastic housing instead of the metal one depicted. My machine is a bench saw with 2KW brushed ac motor (Scheppache). Item was installed correctly (electrical engineer) I bought two of these and both had same problem, have ordered a metal cased item from a different supplier - heres hoping.

A must have for tools without a soft start
I’f you have a table saw for example an Evolution rage that doesn’t have a soft start, then you need this. Was super easy to install and what a difference it has made to my table saw, no more kicking when the power is turned on and the saw spins nicely upto speed. I wish I had done this mod sooner

It works - if you wire it up correctly
I bought this for my Rutlands R1618 table saw, coz it's really scary when you switch it on, especially if you've forgotten to put on your ear defenders! It definitely works. I see that this item is marked up by Amazon as being frequently returned. This will be because there's no wiring instructions beyond what's embossed on the case of the unit. Which looks confusing, if you can actually make out what it's meant to be showing. I had to watch several YouTube videos on how to wire up similar switches to table saws before I understood what I had to do. Even then I was slow to start cutting into the various wires on my saw. I took lots of "before" pictures, just to make sure I could put it back together again if the thing didn't work. But happily it does work. By the way, even the videos I found where they wired it in successfully, the YouTubers hadn't actually wired it up *correctly*. Also, all of them completely ignored the funny yellow square thing which is part of the original switching on my own table saw and theirs. I think I only found the answer to THAT question in a comment someone had left on Amazon (I think for this very product). So I give it 5 stars coz it works - but only if you wire it correctly.

The soft start module does work effectively when installed correctly. Here are the key points to ensure proper installation: Correct Installation Location: The soft start module must be installed on the power OUT side of the switch, not on the power IN side. If installed incorrectly, it will not work as intended as the module will be getting constant power. Wiring Instructions: Blue wire (N): This should be connected to the blue wire that runs from the switch to the motor. Red wire (Live in) and Black wire (Live out): These are connected between the Live power out from the switch and the motor. X2 Capacitor: If you have an X2 capacitor installed, it must remain connected across the output side of the switch. Do not put the X2 capacitor in series with the Live output side (Black wire) of the soft start module, or the motor will not turn on. The capacitor should remain in its original position to ensure the motor receives proper current flow and operates as expected.

The position of A and C is swapped, The diagram on the back of the unit isn't correct. If I installed as per the picture it tripped the RCD. After checking with my multimeter when I swapped A and C it started to work as it should.

The supplier falsely claims this works with 120 volt (mostly north American) devices. IT DOES NOT. After contacting them they finally admitted that it does not work however they have not changed the specifications on the listing. If you plan on using this with a 120 volt device -- it just will not work.

Doesn't work on a 120volt circuit. The Hitachi 371468 Soft Start does, for 120volts.

Wired it up to a Dewalt 7941 table saw. It started up slowly but would cut out before it got to full speed. If I press the 'on' button again while still spinning, it would continue and stay on - the issue in that case was that it wouldn't spin up to full speed. I uninstalled it and wired it back to OE, and the saw worked fine again and full RPM. Do not buy! have started return process through Amazon.
