This thing is the bomb. I had one of its competitors' products a few years ago and it was OK, but I needed a new carpet cleaner for my carpeted stairway (the only carpet I have in my house), and I already have a Shark vacuum and a Shark stick vacuum that I love, so I thought I'd give this a whirl even though it's a bit more expensive than some of the others. It didn't disappoint. Shark's come a long way in the reliability and finesse of its products from the first leaky iron I bought 20 years ago, and they're now among the best out there. This thing is perfect for cleaning stairs. All I can say is I'm really impressed. It's actually a lot quieter than I expected, super light weight with a convenient handle, both the cord and the hose store easily on the device (the hose nozzle even has a notch to attach to the unit's body). It came with both the base cleaning solution and an oxidizing booster solution, both of which have dedicated tanks (the solution tank must be filled with water and topped off with cleaning solution). Also comes with three brushes - a small one integrated into the hose for crevices, a 3" hand tool, a 7" hand tool (which is the one I used), and a "pet waste" tool with a small tank on it which I did not have to use, thankfully, LOL. Has a solid spray and cleans super well, and I was surprised with how much dark gray solution it extracted out of my stairway carpet. The hand tools have integrated brushes and it was quite easy to maneuver around and carry. Filling and emptying the three tanks (Water + cleaner, oxidizer and extracted waste tank) was super easy and all three just pull off of the unit. The waste and cleaning solution tanks have their own handles. I immediately bought a couple of bottles of replacement solution for future use. I also liked how they packaged it - they used recycled cardboard inserts and no styrofoam. Only two small things I think could be improved: The included power cord is fairly short, so if you want to clean something like a stairwell, you'll need a three-prong extension cord in all likelihood to reach your outlet. The cord could be longer. Also - the included cleaner bottle (Deep Clean Pro) was quite small, and might be good for maybe three tanks of water - and the Oxy Multiplier solution, which you'll use far less of, was much larger, which I thought was strange. It should be the reverse. The replacement units I bought of both were much larger. Small gripes, though. All in all, this thing is well executed and a great value and I'm really happy with it.

The Shark is every I expected and more. Super powerful suction and the carpet smells so clean afterwards. Super easy to empty and the hose cleaning feature is amazing. Keeps the head nice and clean and free of smells and yucky water. I love this machine, so much better than the one I had previously from a different company. Great for small spills and pet spots. My dog has a stomach issue and it works great to clean up his occational messes.

First of all I LOVE SHARK products. This Shark StainStriker Carpet & Upholstery cleaner is EXCELLENT! I only wish I’d taken pictures of the results, but I was so excited to use it, that I didn’t. I had an area in my house where my granddog and my new rescue had had a contest to see who could “mark their territory” the best. I bought this great little beast so I didn’t have to haul out my much bigger steam cleaner. It worked so well!! I followed the directions and used the included cleaners. It was easy to use and WOW! I could see results immediately! AMAZING! I am sorry I didn’t take pictures because the results are amazing. The area went from yellow to the original grey in just a matter of minutes! I also purchased a spray from Amazon that will prevent further marking. I believe that this wonderful machine got out all remnants of doggie marking. My little guy watched as I used this Shark Stain Striker and there has been NO more marking episodes since. I really love this Shark StainStriker and recommend it highly! I also used it the next day to eliminate an old coffee stain by my recliner. If you’re on the fence about this, don’t be. If you have kids, it is going to be your best friend. If you are elderly like me with a pet, you need this. Easy to use too..even for this old broad! Try it, you will be amazed!

Absolutely love this cleaner! We got it to wash cushions on the table we just bought! It cleaned very well and the suction for the water was great! They dried by the next morning! Its light and storage wise was great. Wish the bottles of cleaner it came with were bigger but will just have to buy more! The spray is great and wide so it covers vast spaces. I also used it on my couch pillows and it was great!

I love this little carved, clanner.I got it for a car, detailing and little spots on carpet and stuff like that So far, i've used it to a clean a couch And quite a few stains, and such that my kids have left on the carpet. It works amazingly well and gets all of it up.I highly recommend Also, this one opens up, so you can actually clean out the inside of the dirty water container versus the bissel does not.And trust me, you're gonna wanna clean out thats container.It can get very smelly. Does not leak . holds water well. Sprayer works well Does not overheat It is actually affordable compared to other brands.Especially for the cleaner Great job shark.

I was comparing a few and really ended up liking this one! The cleaner that comes with smells really good and it managed to get the stains out really well. I had tied with my cleaner and paper towels and such, but this did incredible! The nozzle attachments made it easy to go from large stains to smaller ones very quickly, there were no leaks, and I had so much cleaner left over I decided to just start cleaning my whole rug with. There is plenty to be able to clean an entire room with the capacity of the tanks. This was also super easy to clean afterwards and do easily stored back together plus is lightweight and easy to store and carry around as needed. I would highly recommend this.

I have a full-sized Hover wet/steam vac, but I was looking for something more portable for the stairs and for when baby just throws up a little. This machine has answered my call flawlessly. This machine powers through stains be it milk, grime, and pretty much everything other than superglue (no coming back from that one unfortunately). The machine is easy to use, cleans carpet well, and leaves the carpet soft and mostly dry (may need to use the suction 2 or more times to really get it pretty dry). Just a few things to note. First off, it's made to be used with proprietary cleaner fluid, so you are kind of locking yourself in to the ecosystem with this purchase (nothing too new - just look at printers). Second, the instructions for mixing water and the concentrate basically says to fill the tank to 95% with water and then add concentrate - so you're kind of forced to fill the entire container even if you only need a little. Third - the dirty water container fills up really quickly, so while fine while in use with the primary cleaning function, if you want to use it to vacuum a giant water puddle or something you'll need to make multiple trips to empty the container. If you can live with the minor inconveniences above, this portable powerhouse is a great purchase and excellent complement to a larger house-wide steam vac.

BLUF: LOVE PROS: Pet hair catcher Cleaners spot they call it a Self wash The tanks sit flap so you can set them down, you don't have to hold them- FLAT BOTTOMS! or Tops, whatever. CONS: Um, I'll get back to you ... So this is probably the 3rd or 4th one of these devices I've gotten. We have animals, and messes are a part of life. My bestie has the little green one, it was awesome when I was pet sitting and her boy got diarrhea 😞. So I got the step up of from hers, with the heated water tank cause hot water works better>>> And I hated it. It was hard to clean, constantly leaked, and made a bigger mess when dumping the dirty water tank. Literally gave it away. Anyway, I have one in the repair shop, covered under a warranty, but that leaves me without. I have to take a trip for family stuff and am leaving my better-half with the 7 month nervous puppy with tummy issues, 2 other dogs, several indoor outdoor cats, chickens, and it's spring-ish. So there is mud, sap, poop, vomit, and a puppy with a tail that has killed my coffee more times than I can count. I knew I couldn't leave him without something. I took a chance. This came today. I'm packing and prepping and lo and behold, puppy takes out my coffee, again, all over my kitchen chair.. So I sighed, cleaned up the floor, gave him a carrot to distract him and set to assembling and using this. The problem with so many of these, is that pet hair causes so many clogs. And the place where the hose connects to them is like a U-turn so clog, clog, clog. Or the suctions good for a while and then sucks, or doesn't 🙃 This has 2 pet catcher thingies. And although I was using this on a kitchen chair, the cats nap here when I'm not using them, so I decided to er on the side of caution and used the pet hair thing. It's also easy to set up. The water tanks have flat spots so when you flip them over to fill them, I can set them on the floor or counter and it doesn't fall over. I don't have to figure how to hold the damn thing and fill and whatever. Yay! This is a huge win for me. Someone really thought about the design. So I get the chair cleaned. Then I look at the pet hair catcher. Eeeew. But yay again. It was easy to clean. And it has the cleaner thing on it to clean the hose so it doesn't get yucky or smelly. And the little tool, the others just slide over it. Easy. Another thing I like about this is the handle is big enough you can squeeze the trigger, and then move your hand for the back and forth action and not be constantly accidently hitting the sprayer thing. Hate when I make more work for myself. Suction seems good. Won't know until I tackle other stuff or after I've used it a few dozen times. The self wash was easy. I haven't wrapped it up yet. I'm literally so excited. I am sitting here writing this review and not doing dishes or packing as I should be. I think if I find the spoons, I'll get to my man's chair, and maybe my yoga mat so it has a chance to dry before I get back ... My chair is still wet, well damp, not wet, and I won't know if the coffee came out yet for a bit. Let you know. I'll get back to you on the cons of I find them.
