Clean output, easy to use controls, perfect by my ears!
Bought this crossover in a set along with the 31 band dsp equalizer. I will be leaving a very similar review of that item. Purchased as the backbone of my bucket list studio / sound room monitor system. Feeding audio into the MIZISNR equalizer from a very cheap ($18) bluetooth receiver and then into this crossover using XLR cables. The biggest detractor I can find to this product is having to make or buy XLR cables for the outputs. From the crossover audio is sent to a consumer grade Sony surround sound receiver @ 100wrms x 6. I have zero complaints about this product. The segmented gain and frequency knobs work well and are consistent between channels to the frequencies printed on the front cover. Configuration switches act as expected. For the money it's an exceptional value and I would recommend it to anyone in such market as I am. Even with power amp gains turned to max, I can only hear an extremely faint 60hz buzz with zero input. This piece is

Basic unit works as advertised, but poor fine tuning and significant audible hiss is no good for me.
I learned that proper bi-amping my floor standing speakers requires the signal to be crossed over before entering the amps. I had been using a simple Y-cable between processor and amps and bought this as an upgrade. First thought the instructions are very basic: each knob has a label and description, but no help at all in finding good settings. I'm usually quick to figure it out, but this was a tad cumbersome. Secondly, the adjustment knobs are all incremented which doesn't give any fine tuning at all. For example from 1400hz to 2400hz is 7 clicks on the knob. and no indication of the exact frequency. And then third is the introduced hiss. With the old Y-cables I can barely hear any hiss with my ear 3" from the speaker. When this unit is hooked up I can hear the hiss from 3' away. Not good. However... The overall sound is dramatically improved: much more detail in the upper mids and more fullness in the lows. Giving 4 stars mainly because it's cheap at under $80. If it was more expensive I would be harsher. I will be returning this in favor of a more refined unit.
