This is really nice and I love it. I had a clay one years ago really kept the wine chilled. Love that this is from England!

There’s no way this was tall enough for a wine bottle. Came in a small box that rattled..the contents were shattered. I didn’t even open it all the way to avoid spillage of clay shards. Returned for credit.

LOVE THIS! Just big enough for bubbly, but not so big that a normal bottle of wine moves around. We keep ours in the freezer, so it's always ready. I love that it's not to "high-tech" looking. And it will keep a bottle cold for as long as we need. I haven't actually timed how long it stays cold, as a bottle of wine never lasts long enough to find out.

A must have for any respectable gentleman planning an excursion to the dark continent. Was regularly used and popularized by the great Francis Macomber during his happy but far too short life. Incidentally Hemingway met him while on safari in the 20’s and was so impressed that he wrote a short story about him (worth googling if you’re unfamiliar).

Clay wine coolers are getting increasingly tough to find. These seem to be one of the last. Durable and work well if you let them soak in water before freezing. Only comment is that it would be better if they were about an inch taller, but a minor nit.

Fill it up with ice water for a half hour before use and it will keep your previously chilled wine cool through the entire bottle. It uses the "evaporative" effect to achieve its purpose.
