A Terrific Value
OK... it is a 'Five Star' rating in part because give me a break... a wireless cycling computer with calorie count and thermometer for around 16 bucks? That has to count for something. So the not-great stuff first... it has three menus of stuff to select from as far as the display goes and what you get on each screen is what you get. You can't customize the lines of data that get displayed. So for example, I would like the speedometer with the thermometer, but I can't get that. Instead, if I want to know the temperature I have to toggle through the second screen to the third screen to read that. That screen displays 'Maximum Speed' in place of your current speed, which is pretty useless for me... it might be nice to know after a ride what your fastest speed was... it just isn't anything I need to know on an ongoing basis. Secondly, the instruction sheet is very detailed, very involved, not super-well-written and a bit confusing. When you're setting up various lines of display, you're not always sure what it is the line you're working on represents... if you start reading the instructions, you'll eventually figure it out... but by then it has timed-out of the set up mode and you have to start over again. Third, you can't cram in lots of lines of data in a unit this small without the font being on the small side. Again, it isn't the unit's fault that the lines are as small as they are, but it can be annoying. Good stuff... the back light feature works well. There are a number of different settings, but I haven't set up anything different from what it came with and you push 'Mode' at night to get a good 3 seconds of light. And it does light up the whole display despite originating on the left side of the unit. The thermometer works! I used to have a 'puter by Planet Bike that was a wired unit that I bought specifically for the thermometer and it was terrible. I'd leave my house on a day I knew was in the 30's and it would read 74 degrees or some-such and by the time I got to work some 25 minutes later it would read like 56 degrees. This one seems to work well and in the moment... you can program Celsius or Fahrenheit... also kilometers or miles for the other measured settings. Set up is straight forward and easy. Honestly, all the sturm und drang people are raving about in the reviews has me flummoxed. I mounted mine on the left side of the bike, made sure the magnet was centered on the wheel sensor, turned it on and it had a pulse right away. A tip: I didn't have to do this because the magnet on this unit is pretty strong... but you can buy the tiniest of the neodymium magnets and attach one or two to the wheel magnet to increase its strength and range. Then you won't have to adjust the distance to the sensor to within a micron of its life. The dimensions for these craft magnets are like 2 mm diameter and 1 mm thick. Accuracy of the speedometer... yeah, I'm not sure. It seems accurate based on how far away a destination is and the trip distance, which seems to correlate well. The instructions do give you some common measurements for different diameter wheels... it doesn't have 700 x 25c however and so I can't see how well my measured / calculated circumference 'stacks up' with their estimate. The calorie count feature keys off your mass in kilograms with one pound = about 2.2 kilograms. Personally, I think any and all calorie count features are pretty worthless. How fast you're going and therefore how many calories you're burning just has too many variables to account for. Durability, water resistance, battery life, etc. are all unknowns at this point. If these wind up being 'bad' I'll post updates.

Many Features - Most features did not work- returned
Product did not work. Reprogrammed 3 times. Tested batteries. Reassembled. The instructions are very bad - no diagram of programming, long verbal program instructions that skipped steps, added abbreviations that could not be googled. Added program steps that had no explanation of what they are. The instructions did not even tell how to enter program phase. If you want to get frustrated then buy this product. I have a box full of these type of simple devices over 25 years of cycling. I selected the device because it had the exact features I wanted, they don't work. Would off and on show items then go away.

Hope it Helps
I read allot of reviews/issues installing this item and hopefully my picks will help some of you. So before the package even arrives I receive a grammar ignoring email telling me to contact the seller instead of leaving a negative review(see pick). Doesn't bring feelings of confidence. I review my entire experience. Not just the product. Lucky for me I've installed several of these bike computers before. So I don't need the instructions as much. But I did notice that they weren't very descriptive. The spoke magnet needs to come close as possible to the sensors two arrows. I aligned the magnet in-between them.I originally wanted to mount on the NECK of my bike. But the unit was just to big for the location and had to go with bar mount. I'm used to a different model as far as lay out goes. And this one will take some getting used to. Over all it's ok. Figuring out how to swap the mounting position was my only issue.(only to find out the position won't work for my bike!LOL). Push down the center with a small screw driver until you hear a "click". then the whole thing slides out allowing you to turn it. I also received another email from the company telling me it was ok to review their item. Now that it was apparent I didn't need there help. So here it is. It's a decent computer for the money. A little big. But until I can use cell phone g.p.s. this will do. I would use it on another bike. Will update as needed when I start putting serious miles on this.

Instructions Could Be Much Better
This is an update to my previous review on this item and I am down grading it to only 3 start. 2 weeks after I bought it the computer stopped working. I was pretty sure it was a battery issue since it worked at first and I haven't dropped or crashed my bike. I was out on my first long ride since I bought and installed the computer on my bike and suddenly the computer stopped reporting speed, distance, ride time, etc. The head unit worked fine with the time and temp still displaying so I stopped and checked the magnet alignment which "looked" fine so I figured the batter in the sender stopped working. I got home and had to cut the zip ties that home the sender on my fork so I could get to the battery. I got busy over the weekend and only just today got a new battery (CR2032) for the sending unit. I put it in and ran the magnet by the sending unit a few times to see if it was working and it was. I put the sending unit back on the fork and nothing?? I tried re-positioning it a few times and still nothing so I got out the cough, cough "instructions" which were really not much help at all. After working with it for 30 minutes I finally got it working and the "instructions" were no help at all. It took some trail and error for me to get it right but it is working now and I have a feeling the battery was not bad at all it was the poor "instructions" that lead me astray. If anyone else buys this computer don't go by the "instructions" they will be of little help. On the sending unit on the side of the unit opposite of the battery door there are 2 marks about 3/4" apart. The magnet has to be lined up with the lower of the 2 marks for the computer to work properly and this was not mentioned at all in the "instructions" The "instructions" lead a person to line the magnet up in the center of the 2 marks and that will not work so be forewarned if you buy this computer. The "instructions" could stand to be a lot better!

Can't use on a rear wheel for indoor exercise/ training :(
Not useful as an indoor exercise option. I purchased this to use it on my indoor bike with a rear roller trainer for exercise and the info lead me to believe it could be used for rear wheel options but the manual states that the sensor is limited by 70 cms from the display which means no data gets sent from the rear wheel. Secondly I was really unhappy with the display quality. When I got it out of the box it powered on and barely functioned. I switched both batteries out as they had little power left in them. They should not have been installed in the first place. Luckily I had extras. But that made little difference. The display readout runs faded quality at times, certain direct or angled view are hard to read. I think it went away a bit once the better battery was installed. The instructions are not very clear which buttons are mode and set. Should have had a diagram of the buttons. The buttons themselves function well. The whole thing fits nice but the value feels kinda cheated now that I know it doesn't work on a rear wheel. That was the whole point of getting it without a wire.

Stay Clear!
What a chinese scam, no instructions on how to program unit. Could not even find any info about how to program this unit on google. I learned a good lesson, stay clear of anything that comes out of China!!!! It is nothing but JUNK!
