I screwed up my first project, but then I tried something less intricate and it turned out pretty nice. I received a lot of product for the money, and even extra tools that I don't need yet but will one day. I'm not letting this Cricut Joy sit in the box like my Maker 4 did - I'm watching videos, using design space and am determined to master this machine. Now Ive done vinyl and card making, I can't wait to see what I try next!! May I suggest Jennifer Maker's Cricut Playbook? If you buy it digitally you'll get constant updates, tips & tricks, forever. Great item for a first time Cricut user. This starter kit provides everything you will need to for your vinyl project. Either it be your first or your 100th project. I recommend this product.

I bought this kit mainly for the mats. The other stuff was a bonus but it turns out I use the tools all the time. The vinyl and paper is high quality. However, the light mat's corners bent after using it only a few times and I had to cut off the corners and use it the other direction. I suspect I will need to replace it soon. I haven't used the standard mat yet but it looks like the same type of material. Great value for the money.

A lot of people are saying the replacement blades aren’t right.. that they are blunt tip for scoring and not blades. I just wanted to set the record straight. They are blades. I feel stupid because I thought the same thing. Adding a picture for reference. Take the rubber cap off.

This was the only way I could get the card mat for the Joy Xtra machine. All items in this kit are good quality. I can put all of the Joy Xtra specific items together separate from the Explore items.
