The neighbors moved and gave us their pitbull. She was pregnant and heartworm positive. I've never had a pitbull before or a litter of puppies. I set up the whelping box early in my dining room, giving her time to nest. She didn't even look at it until the day she went into labor. She had her first of 8 puppies on my brand new suede sofa. I quickly dragged the whelping box next to the sofa and she jumped in. Over the next four weeks, I was constantly cleaning the box with clorox wipes. The puppies outgrew it at about 4-5 weeks...or rather they learned how to climb out of it. I had two whelping boxes to help keep the puppies contained while cleaning the other one. The box was easy to assemble, clean, and slide around the floor to clean under it. Honestly, I wish it was a little heavier to help hold down the large washable puppy pads. Some people may think a whelping box is unnecessary and a waste of money when a kiddie pool would serve the same purpose. I disagree and it made this 56 year old woman's life a little more bearable with 9 new family members.

Update: The process of removing the mat and replacing it with a clean one is difficult and the mechanics of adding high to the door is also difficult. Pros: 1. Well made and designed 2. Easy to assemble 3. Once no longer needed can be taken apart and put away. 4. Added value, the mat, color coded collars and tracking forms 5. The guards to avoid sofocation are by far the best I have seen, they actually work 6. Very easy to clean. 7. If you try to built this and buy the add one separately you'll be looking at spending more money. 8. Once the puppies are older you can remove the safety rail, easy to remove. Cons: 1. I wish they had included a storage bag for when is put away 2. I wish thay had included a spare mat to swap them in between washes.

Great Whelping Box From Great Seller! This a super easy whelping box to assemble............even with a torn rotator cuff. It took less than ten minutes to have a whelping box ready to go. This is a ideal box for birthing and raising a litter in. Our Golden Retriever delivered a litter of nine in it. Quality material, quality floor pad, useable extra's included. MOST IMPORTANT: We had a minor "hic-cup" with our shipment. The seller went way beyond and above to take care of me! Old time service! The CEO actually sent a email to make sure I was pleased and I am!!! UPDATE: The "pig rail" is a puppy life saver! It is tall and wide enough that when our 11 day old Golden Retriever pups get behind momma the pup is perfectly safe from momma leaning backwards. This is a GREAT box!!!

This box is a perfect box for a one litter breeder. If you are breeding and will be using it consistently it will not last. For the money, I am satisfied. I wont be using it after these puppies leave. It does clean up well and is very easy to assemble.

Very impressed and love my new whelping box. I was whelping a litter for a client and was worried the breed size vs the size of box would be an issue and it was NOT. Cane Corso mama and her pups fit perfectly and with room to grow! Definitely recommend this whelping box!

Easy assembly, ease of cleaning, with quality and clean appearance. Perfect size for golden retriever and 11 pups. The adjustable sides are functional and helpful.

Went together super easy. It’s the perfect size for my Labrador. It seems pretty sturdy, and I really like the ability to take some slats off so my dog can get in and out easily. We put it up early so she can get used to it before the puppies come.
