Sometimes you want to use Ethernet rather than WiFi for mobile devices, and this is an excellent way to do it. Thru-power lets you run that way without draining the battery.

I tried this on 4 devices that work just fine with the standard USB c to Ethernet and not one single device will recognize the Ethernet on it, only as a charge device. Don't waste your time or money.

I purchased this to replace a plugable docking station that worked for a short while. Little did I know this Belkin Connect USB was exactly what I needed in the first place and was less expensive. It works exactly as I need it to on my MacBook Air. As a side note Apple really gets under my skin as they continually find a way to extract more money from the consumer by eliminating the docking ports. I've had the Belkin for a few months now and I hope it continues performing as it has, it's a perfect performer.

I use facetime on the ipad on a daily basis as I am overseas often. I'm not sure what it is but I tend to get a lot of dropped facetime calls mid call. And ever since I started using this ethernet/power adapter, I have perfect video call quality with no dropped calls. I didn't even know there was such an adapter for ethernet for ipads at first. A nice plus is, I can use this 100 Watt passthrough charger/ethernet adapter on laptops too, so that I don't have to go out and buy a separate dongle for ethernet for the dongle life we live in now with newer generations of laptops.Update: Just tested the ethernet part without having the charger plugged in. It works fine for PCs without the USB-C power needing to be plugged in! Definitely a plus feature.

Does not work at macOS setup assistant; likely requires drivers to load. If you plan to use it as a more permanent fixture, I'd recommend it. But if you need to wipe machines repeatedly, sorry to say that the belkin ethernet only dongle is still one of the only options

I love this thing! I never realized that you could hook up tablets/phones to Ethernet. I’ve tried the top of the line mesh wifi systems from netgear and linksys and even with wired backhaul they both suck compared to having an actual wired connection. Everything on websites load in 2-3 seconds instead of 10-30+ seconds on WiFi. It used to take forever for videos to load and my apps to download updates, but now it’s super fast. Now I can even get a lot of work done just using my phone instead of having to use my PC.

Everyone likes a good bargain like purchasing a product "Like New" for 20 or 30% off but I received 2 of these Belkin adapters and they don't work, it's a real pain in the ass. Quality control over at Amazon isn't great so please do your job. The product gets 5 stars but the stress one gets from this, only 2.
