Very easy to use and accurate.

This is amazing. As I work on a dementia nursing unit it helps to reduce the stress of having temperature taken. So much easier for staff and residents. No having to hold thermometer under someone's arm and cause them distress. Highly recommended.

We bought one of these (from our local pharmacy) and had to get it replaced after a week. Fortunately, that wasn't too difficult but it didn't bode well. Our replacement works well enough, but now after a year the display flashes oddly, with segments of the numbers dimming in and out, albeit in a way that still makes it possible to read/infer a reading. It does seem to take the temperature accurately, but the problems have done much to undermine our confidence in this product. It is useful to be able to take the temperature of room furniture and baby bottles (and so on) as well, and it is easier to take our sons' temperature than with a strip thermometer, but on balance I wouldn't recommend this product to people.

Beware! I have ordered this product, but Royal Mail won't deliver it until I have paid a Customs charge of £13.28. There was no indication in the description of this item that it was to be sourced from outside the EU; apparently from the US! I consider this should have been made clear. I have given it 3 stars, but that is meaningless as I haven't yet received it. Apparently one has to give a rating before the review can be published.

My 3rd one of these bought over 8 years. Excellent. Generally they last 3+ years. No phaffing with ear piece covers. Latest generation lovely to use. Move intuitive and lightening quick. More than pays for the time saved in consultations with wriggling kids. Every GP should have one.

Easy to use and accurate

As first time parents, we stereotypically bought every gadget going, but this thermometer is worth every penny. As teething progresses, temperatures can spike and nothing worse than trying to get a small baby to keep a small old style thermometer in her mouth for a minute or two. At first glance, we thought, no way, it can't be accurate. But as we used it more and more its amazing how accurate it is. We have another type of thermometer for the bath, and this on gives the exact same reading without touching the water! It also gives you room temp which is handy now that the winter is fast approaching. It will keep you second guessing its accuracy but you have the comfort of being able to check temps while baby is asleep without waking or disturbing.
