Rejuvenated The Water Softener
Our water softener is 2 years old so when it started to not do its job of softening the water we thought the unit was faulty. I took it out, cleaned it, re-stocked it with salt and still the unit was not getting as soft as it had done from day one. From further research it was suggested I clean or replace the resin - living in the Thames Valley the water here is very hard so thought ok lets try the cleaning route first as it is a fifth of the cost of replacing the resin - and a lot less fiddly. I read the instructions, (wait until your salt level is a quarter of the capacity) used the resin cleaner to do a clean, did two backwashes, ran the taps for 10 minutes afterwards and set it for a final regen. overnight. It's back to being super soft and delighted. Truly awesome to be back to soft water. Upon some further research it is recommended cleaning the resin twice a year - it makes sense when you think about it - the resin takes the hard water limescale so logic says it will need a clean ! Try it if your water softener is not as effective as it once was.

Used as a preventative.
Easy to use. Can't give 5 stars yet as unknown whether it actually works as I'm using it as a preventative. Have previously had salt build up in one of the valves which meant some salty water in the taps when on a regeneration cycle. It took a few years to build up though. Hopefully using this will prevent it. Will post again if anything changes.

Water Softener Maintenance
This product is a must have to maintain the performance of your water softener. Plenty of guides available online and does a great job at cleaning the resin bed. I love water2buy products have bought two softeners from them as well as their drinking water kits.

Simple and effective
Very easy to use, and it does seem to have made a difference. Water is softer and we are getting fewer water marks on the shower door. You only use a third of a bottle each time, so it’s very good value compared to other brands.

Will continue using this to maintain effectiveness of water softener
Our water softener had started to show reduce effectiveness upon adding salt and appeared to need more frequent regeneration. Got this to clean the resin. Water softener now working really well with correct water hardness set. Will use this regularly from now on. Easy to use. Add when salt low and run two regenerations…great 🙂

Does actually work
my 15 year+ water softener was choking off my water flow rates/pressure; ie run a cold tap and the shower turns to a dribble. I did 4 regenerations with a dose each time (so regenerated each tank twice). The pressure/flow rates improved dramatically so a flushed toilet etc no longer causes the shower to turn to a dribble. Also the bath fills much faster. In addition the water is much more silky and I’m not getting any lime scale any more. I wish I’d discovered this product sooner and/or realised how dramatically a soiled resin bed can affect the performance of the water softener.

Fazit: Der Reiniger hatte Wirkung gezeigt, kann man also empfehlen.
