I have at least 4 or 5 sluice boxes and I’ve had the best experience with this one. It absolutely catches the most gold than the more expensive ones that I have because of the dream mats that come with it. If you’ve never had an opportunity to use the Dream Mat then you should definitely consider getting it. This sluice box is built very sturdy and is a nice length. So far I’ve only used it with pay dirt but I think it’s a given that I’m going out to the nearest river that is good for gold prospecting and trying it out to see if it’s as good as it is in my garage.

These sluices are great. There's lots of good reviews and I agree with them. My only "constructive" comments would be as follows: -No Carrying Handle. If you put it in a sack it will look like a gun. -Hardware (Nuts, Bolts, Plates) could be simplified, although they are pretty simple to begin with. -A sticker instead of UV Printing? Missed Opportunity there. -my sluice had tooling marks. It's a simple straight bend of sheet metal. No reason any tool marks should be on the crease. -my sluice got held up in US customs for some unknown reason. An extra 10 days added to delivery. Having said this the 6x42 is my number one go-to sluice for fine and powder gold. I also have to deal with dreaded Glacial Flake Gold which is probably the toughest gold to capture in the World. I would definitely recommend the purchase.

I started out my prospecting adventures with an ol riffle system folding sluice box a gold pan and a kitchen strainer a few years back. Ain't much but flour gold in my area... and very little of it to be had. I found that I was losing a bunch out of the area the sluice folded. So I started lookin for a non folding sluice and the search led me to this beauty! Now my capture rate has doubled to where I can't find anything in my tailings anymore.... zero loss from what I can see. I'm sold on the dream mat design. I've since built myself a highbanker with dream matting as well as the jarvine riffle system for this coming mining season. With gold prices through the roof my retirement plan is really coming together! I will say that if you're going for large nuggets you'd need bigger "cells" to capture that stuff effectively. But there ain't no nuggets in West Virginia. Attached is a pic of gold found with this sluice box.
