This tool is sturdy (unlike some reviews I saw of aluminum versions). I used it to remove and then replace a master link on my Bacchetta recumbent bike, a task which was always very difficult before. It is no problem now, and the price is right. I'm docking it one star only for the complete lack of instructions. I know how to use this both to remove and reinstall master links, but a lot of buyers might not. Reinstalling is something that I think people understand only AFTER they see a picture, or see it done once. Regardless, I paid under $10 and at that price this is a steal.

These pliers perform well. Some reviewers complain that these only open the link, but cannot close it, because they're trying to fit both jaws into the center of the Quick Link. That is incorrect. The proper way to use chain pliers is to put *one* of the jaws into the Quick Link, and put the other jaw into the next adjacent pair of link plates. The plier will spring open, holding itself in place. Lightly pull the handles apart, and the link pops and locks in place. Even easier: pliers are not even necessary to do this. Simply have the Quick Link on the top section of chain--between the cassette and the chain ring--and press down on a forward-facing pedal crank to apply tension to the chain. The link pops and locks in place. Dead simple.

Good quality tool. Makes chain work a lot nicer, Wish i had gotten one a long time ago.
