Yum!
Tastes just like root beer! Many flavor packets can taste a bit funky but this one had a lot of flavor without tasting like flat soda (due to no carbonation). It obviously won't taste exact the same as a real soda, but I would buy this again! I like my water not so intense, so instead of 1 packet per 16 oz, I use 2 packets per 40 0z (I use a large reusable cup).

Highly concentrated and too sweet (Aspartame), bright blue hue in head foam
The "SINGLES TO GO! Dad's Old Fashioned Root Beer - Sugar Free Powdered Drink Mix" is highly concentrated flavor and far too sweet (Aspartame) when one packet is mixed into the recommended 16.9 fl oz (0.5 L) of [carbonated] water. When compared to similar A&W sugar free packets and volume dilution, Dad's is far sweeter where the Aspartame overpowers the root beer flavor. Furthermore, Dad's mix is far sweeter compared to the grocery store bottled Dad's sugar free root beer. Recommend adding one packet to at least 34 fl oz (1 L), or more, carbonated water to reduce the sweetness. It is my preference to add one packet into 68 oz (2 L) carbonated water, making it a greater value per serving! Beyond the high sweetness, it was disconcerting to see a bright blue hue in the surface foam when pouring over ice. Why is there blue coloring added to the otherwise natural dark caramel brown root beer color? Whereas, A&W has no blue hue. Being concerned with artificial colorants, will go go back to A&W. Mark V.

Best mixed with flat water!
I’m a big fan of flat root beer so this was a major win. I tried it first mixed with sparkling water just to see and it was weird, wouldn’t dissolve all the way, and the foam turned blue. When I mixed it with regular water though, it’s perfect.

Definitely not bad.
I don't think this is as good as the zero sugar A&W or Virgils, but it's infinitely better than Zevia, and it's more convenient than all three. Taste is strong with vanilla and cinnamon. It's not the most rounded root beer, but a packet mixed with 14-16 oz of carbonated water will definitely satiate the root beer urge, and it's easy to take with you. It's pretty good - surprisingly good for packet root beer.

Delicious! and I don't even like rootbeer
these are surprisingly delicious! Perfectly sweet and with a little bit of fiz. We used them on our backpacking trip to have a little treat in our water. It's single packets and super light weight

So Very good!!!!
Love it, Love it, Love it. These single packs of Dad's root beer is so very good. I'm not a water drinker so this helps me with my water supply. It also makes a to die for ice cream float. I make a big pitcher full at a time and even at that it doesn't last very long. There are other flavors that my husband likes but I still go for Dad's root beer singles.

Helped me break the soda habit!
Love these, finally broke my habit of soda which has soooo much unhealthy sugar... These really do taste good. Just give them a chance to get use to the change from soda to these... The A&W ones also taste good, but I like these a little more.
