Good Value
Excellent. Even before using a noise gate on a vocal recording, the noise level is well below -60db. Great Value.

A pretty decent mic
Personally I love this item. If I had more money I'd buy something else. Now sugar coating over. Here's the sour: Use a POP-Filter. I reccomend looking into an expensive pop filter so sound stays the same. Good luck

A non-hyped review of a hyped mic
One of the very times when the hype is justified. I own a lot of high quality microphones, most of which cost 3x or more the price of this Se. I’ve used a lot more very nice mics in my life. So I’m not coming to this from a “gee whiz it sounds better than a Rode” perspective. For most studio use (vocals, acoustic guitar, piano, overheads, similar) I would honestly choose this over the Neumann TLM103 or most variants of the AKG C414 (in cardioid mode). It’s a more neutral sound with less high frequency peaks, but does not sound attenuated or mids-heavy at all. The off-axis response sounds natural so bleed should be pleasant in context. The noise floor is insanely low. And the build quality seems fantastic, though I’ve only had it a little over a month. Really nice mount included too. This mic is just so obviously fantastic I looked and looked for the hidden “gotchas” but have not found any.

Fantastic Mic
This is a fantastic mic for the price. The large diaphragm capsule is smooth and detailed, not to mention being all but immune to plosives. On top of that is looks amazing. Includes an awesome aluminum case with laser cut foam for the mic and shock mount. This would be a great mic for anyone wanting to dip a toe in the large diaphragm condenser mic pool.
