Directions are ambiguous! (or at least they were to me)
Directions are ambiguous! This stuff works like 3M splicing tape did 40 years ago, in that backing MUST be removed or tape does not stick to anything. We called it vulcanizing, once on it becomes homogeneous, trying to unroll is like trying to remove a vulcanized tire repair.

Great product, definitely a bargain.
Decent stretch, great adhesive, great price for the bundle. Have gone through two rolls so far and gave one to a coworker; will buy again when out.

There's a trick to it!!
Lots of complaints on here about this stuff not sticking.... I'm willng to bet that none of those people realized that there is a cover layer that needs to be pealed off. Most self fusing tape comes with a clear plastic barrier wrap that is obviously supposed to be removed. The cover layer on this product is black, not obvious, difficult to peal off and feels just like the tape itself. Once you figure out removing the barrier material this stuff is awesome and a bit thicker than most other self fusing tape products I have used. Works great, but nstructions for use might help a lot of people.

Self-fusing rubber tape is heavy duty
I use this product to seal electric cables on trailers and rear lights on vehicles exposed to sprayed water. I will admit that it is not easy to use in cold weather, but when warm and it has been stretched and wound around itself it will do a good job of sealing itself. Sometimes the loose end of the tape will not stick completely, but it can be left loose, or cut off after the tape cures.

Failed after 2 months. Completely useless
I've used other stretch-and-seal tape before with great success - in contrast, this tape is very poor quality and failed almost immediately. Take a look at the pictures - this is after just 2 months on a cold water line. Yes, I removed the peel-away layer on the tape, yes, I stretched it well and made sure it was fused to itself - this tape essentially disintegrated. Sorry, but that is unacceptable. Do yourself a favor and buy a reputable brand instead.

Good Quality
Thick and easy to use, just remove the top layer.I bought these because they were cheaper that the others I bought. But these are better quality, thicker and have a textured top for more gripping power.

NOT Rescue tape
If you've used Rescue brand tape and are thinking this is a cheaper generic version of the same product, look elsewhere. This tape is thick and stiff. It does not stretch easily. Perhaps I am not using it properly, but I find this tape is difficult to use. I cannot speak to durability, as I tried to use it once, but found it unwieldy. I still do not know what this tape will be useful for.

100% sealed leaking indoor sharkbite connector
Having completed a DIY plumbing project in the basement (i.e. connecting well to irrigation system) I noticed that one of my sharkbite connectors had a tiny leak. Leak size highly matters evaluating the product but hard to estimate. Let's say my leak was one drop for every five minutes of use on a 1 inch PEX pipe. In other words, a tiny leak. Still, I was faced with replacing the sharkbite elbow connector as well as the two PEX pipes connecting to it since I didn't leave much room to cut and give a fresh pipe surface for the sharkbite to latch onto (which would make for a poor seal). As a first (lazy) plan I decided to use the self fusing water leak pipe repair tape and keep an eye on it. 100+ hours of irrigation use later there isn't a leak. Hence the lazy plan seems to have worked. Notably I used a whole tape on the sharkbite covering it thoroughly on both ends just for good measure. Application was a little difficult at first (i.e. keeping it stretched and tight) but quickly got the hang of it and it was fine.
