This used to be around ₹500 but for some reason its jumped up in price and stayed that way for a good while. That said nothing and I mean nothing beats this in taste. I've tried other brands, there's a certain mix of tart and heat that you just do not get from the others. I mean if you're using it for daily cooking I wouldn't buy this, the Indian brands work well enough. But if you eat some dishes only on cheat days and want that authentic flavor nothing really beats the Chung Jung . The other brands tend to be a bit more sour, a bit more akin to tomato paste than a chilie paste.

The product was good but the seller is giving the product which is about to expire. I got the product which expires in two month

I’ve tried gochujang from UP and all the other brands available here but they are always either spoilt, used the wrong ingredients or mixed up stuff and are trying to pass it off as gochujang. This one however, has the right color, taste and texture! I saw this brand by fluke on YT and happy to see it matches the quality and taste. So if you’re looking for authentic gochujang, ditch the rest and go for this one.

I’ve got to give 5 for the seller - it was packed properly , product was original and had long expiry date. For the product 2 - for 600 bucks it’s bad. I’ll explain the taste - Kashmir chilli powder 70% jaggry 27% beer-3 % with little salt. Mix them in your mind and imagine. It’s fermented sweet chilli paste which is not very spicy or very sweet. It does make some difference to the food in a good way( so 3 out of 5) value for money 2/5. If you have beer , chilly powder and jaggry, try my recipe. 😉

turned out to be an excellent surprise and is every bit as good as my usual brand. The paste has a balanced medium heat with a nice depth of flavor, combining gentle sweetness with rich, savory umami. The ingredient list is straightforward, with brown rice, red pepper powder, and no corn syrup, which is a nice bonus for a pantry staple used often.
