It's like having a new Vitamix! At first I was concerned about compatibility and how complex the installation would be. But the drive socket and blades fit well and seal without leaks. The instructions made it easy to install these parts, too. I use this blender every day for protein shakes and making cashew milk. Everything is better mixed and creamy! 6 months later, everything works well so far!

I have a really old Vitamix and they do not even list it on the Vitamix site when you look for what model you have based on serial number. So when I pulled my original blades out I saw that it was the container that had cracked. Probably because the original blade showed signs of wear so it would move in the hole. Luckily I had another container that I got and never used that had blades for dry chopping. If you wanted to make flour. I never used it. So I took that out and used this in that and then put the other one in the cracked blender with the thought if I ever were to try and grind flower the crack would be of no consequence as nothing would leak. So both work well and I have a pitcher that probably will last as long as I will need it since I got the original probably more than 30 years ago. If I get another 30 years well lets hope that I do.

12.1 inch? Haha no! As I learned the hard way, compatibility is a total crapshoot because they don’t publish accurate or useful information in the product details! What you actually need to do is remove your current one, measure the thread depth with a caliper, and then hope you find a replacement part that actually shows the thread depth (this, and others don’t for no good reason). Not the overall height, which they do show for some reaso, but which doesn’t matter!!!

The fit was good. The tightening tool worked well. I knocked off 1 star as the blade thickness was less than the original part. I wish i still had access to a material science lab so I could ascertain the blade composition. I am happy I purched as I saved a boat load of money.

I'm impressed with this product it really works.

It worked exactly how I had hoped on the Vitamix 5200 model. My issue was the bearing inside the blade unit was dry/worn and making a loud squealing noise when turned up and wasn’t blending very well. After removing the blade assembly and installing the new one, I gave it a test with soap/water and there was no abnormal noises anymore and it blended a smoothie with frozen fruit without issue! This was way more cost effective than a new pitcher let alone a new blender. I hope it will last another 10+ years before it needs a part replaced.
