Clannad / Clannad After Story: Complete Collection

As the headline already says, and hopefully not just for me that's a very important and helpful information, this wonderful Complete Collection, containing both Clannad and Clannad: After Story and the OVAs(!), runs perfectly fine on Blu Ray players with the Region Code B/2 setting, i.e. Europe, Australia, etc -- for further details, see Amazon's own listing of countries for each Region Code. Compared to the available offers in Germany, this Complete Collection not only is the most sensible choice as it is one item containing all episodes, including the OVAs, instead of the horrendous german sub seasons for both Clannad and Clannad After Story, which would leave you with easily 8 separate boxes each containing just a handful of episodes and, depending on the actual version, sometimes not even containing the OVAs. But not just that, the german sub season-malarky means that if you want to have the complete Clannad experience that you get with this Complete Collection, you will likely have to pay substantially more, easily 20 to 30 bucks more, and even worse than that, you will neither have the english dub, nor, and this is most annoying, would you get the japanese high quality audio track with english subtitles; the german versions, all of them, exclusively contain german subtitles, and a german dub, both of which are far inferior to the english ones where the level of quality of the translation is concerned -- the german subtitles more often than not completely fail to convey the meaning of the japanese original dialogue, whereas the english subtitles, while still not as good as some of the amazing fan subbing, are much more true to the original. Another great feature of the Blu Ray set is that you will not get a better visual quality than this anywhere else -- Clannad in 1080p High Definition and **true** 16:9 aspect ratio, i.e. 1.78:1, actual fullscreen on 16:9 TV sets! In short: This is currently **the** best version of Clannad & Clannad After Story on Blu Ray, and not just for american customers (or anyone with Region Code A/1 players), but even also for german customers and anyone else with a Region Code B/2 player at home. Delivery-wise, I picked the Global Priority shipping option and my package was delivered from the USA to Germany within only two working days via UPS Worldwide Express, customs was handled by UPS in-house, Amazon actually levied the 19% import tax together with the item & shipping price right at checkout, so there was zero hassle with customs either, and zero delay. 48 hours to get something shipped from the U.S. to Germany is well worth the asking price for this shipping option, especially since you get a guaranteed delivery date. I don't think I have to say anything about the anime itself, those of you pondering the purchase of this edition likely already know that this is easily one of the best anime of all time, if not actually **the** best. Oh, one more thing I should probably add: If you are even remotely capable of empathy, this anime *will* make you cry. More than once. Yes, fully grown men as well. And that's a good thing. Clannad is *that* brilliant, *that* emotionally gripping!

If that headline didn't already pull at your heartstrings and leave you with an odd feeling of happiness and sadness at the same time then you are not human, please go back to your alien emotionless world! I doubt anyone is here actually looking for a review of this so that they can decide if they are going to purchase it or not. If you are here you've already watched Clannad, you love Clannad, you want to watch it again and again and MUST own your very own copy of it. If you're here through some weird twist of fate know this, there has never been a more perfect, beautiful story ever written and put into Anime form. The original visual novel is wonderful and also lots of fun to play, consider getting yourself a copy of that as well if you love the Anime adaptation. I love Clannad, you love Clannad, we all love Clannad. Buy this, buy a copy of the visual novel, buy yourself a giant stuffed Dango, or a Nagisa figure, this is a fandom that if you're not already obsessed with you will be if you watch this Blu-ray combo. I hope someone watches this for the fist time because of mine or someone else's reviews here, you will not be disappointed.

A must have collection for any fan of the series. Watched the whole series back when I was a kid, glad that I did because I just don't have enough words to explain how much this anime hit me, and changed the course of my life in the process. Was gonna buy A Silent Voice (which is another masterpiece btw, be sure to check that out too) to show a little financial support to Kyoto Animation fire incident on top of what I already donated through the gofundme campaign, but saw this before checking out, and so I immediately changed my mind to order this instead. Never thought that one day I'll be able to get my hands on this gem... legit had teary eyes just from physically holding this on my hands. If you're always feeling worthless or not knowing what to do with your miserable life, please give this anime a go. I'm certain by the end of Nagisa's and Tomoya's journey, some part of you shall be different. Um, ops, did NOT plan to write this much. Watched it in High School before and decided to relive the experience years after. 11/10 story. Season 1 may be slow but the build up to season 2 is worth it. Watching the anime encouraged me to play the original Visual Novel. The only issue is that it starts raining over my eyes around the end of the series.

Heart wrenching! Saw the first series on Netflix and was hooked! Of course, that's all they had so I had to get the blu-ray to find out the ending. Grown man crying, all I can say. They used that "blank template" protagonist to a tee. Anyone can relate, and thus you not only see but feel the story. I had to binge the set once it arrived. Great new condition, no loose discs in the case (which is super compact). In the event of a meteor strike destroying my place and belongings, I would buy it again!

I love Clannad. The Blu-Ray is what you'd expect. As such, it received 5 stars.

The delivery time was much faster than I anticipated despite the virus pushback. I appreciate the care that was put into the packaging. It was in a box, not a package and had bubble wrap around the case for extra security and care. As for Clannad itself? I think many here will agree when I say it's wonderful. The story is rich, filled with likeable characters, great music, and is just an overall wonderful anime. It's been my favorite ever since I watched it for the first time on Hulu and I just had to have a physical copy of it. Definitely recommend the anime and the buyer!

Great series overall. One of the most heart-wrenching shows I’ve ever seen in the best way possible, and that includes both anime and non-anime shows. Both Clannad and Clannad: After Story are included, as well as two OVAs. While the original Clannad is good (despite showcasing some of the more typical anime tropes you might expect but still a good watch), Clannad: After Story is where the series really shines and matures. It takes a common theme like family (pretty sure the title ‘Clannad’ itself references family) and explores it in a way that is so uniquely resonant that it’s nothing short of essential for anime viewers. However, just a few heads up for general audiences/buyers: the art style is very distinctive (even by anime standards) and may be a turn off for some people. If you don’t like the art, consider skipping this one, since it’s the same art across the entire show. My recommendations: watch Clannad first since it is essential for providing context to everything else, followed by the two OVAs (which are alternate timelines that take place immediately after Clannad), then watch After Story—which will end it on the highest possible note. Dub vs sub is preference, but I found the sub more enjoyable. Definitely pick up this collection, especially if you enjoy the medium and/or want a nice slice-of-life anime. It’s an essential viewing in my opinion. Fantastic.

La obra maestra de Visual Arts y Key ha llegado en esta edición perfecta que incluye las dos temporadas de esta serie tan magnífica, no hay más que decir que no se haya dicho ya en los anteriores 9-10 años. En cuanto al producto es una caja sencilla pero más gruesa de lo normal para blu ray ya que contiene 6 discos. En cuestión de calidad la serie se encuentra a una resolución perfecta de 1080 pixeles. Solo subtitulos y doblaje al idioma inglés, versión para latinoamérica no creo que haya pronto lamentablemente para quienes no hablan o leen inglés.

メインストーリーが良いのはもちろんなんですが、智代編、杏編もきゅんきゅんします。 こんな高校生活おくってみたかったな〜。 映像は流石の「京アニクオリティ」で特に背景・風景の描き込みが綺麗で、菜の花畑は夢のような美しさです。 買って良かったです。 原作のゲームもSwitch版の評判が良いようなので買おうかと思っています。

Buy it $90 is expensive but owning this series is worth it Price will only go up so now is the best time Well written love stories It will tear you down and put you back together when you have a time in your life where you depressed and unhappy this show will make it worse then remind you why life is great this show is something you watch when you need to understand life I think the show really starts after the fuko arc is over but you should still watch it because she has her place sprinkeled in and at the end enjoy the show you wont regret it also if its sold out look on amazon us or uk instead you may even get it cheaper.
