I started using the Dexcom G7 sensors in August, and these over-patches were highly recommended to me by several people at my endocrinologist's office. I've just ordered my second box, because everything they said about them was spot on. I have yet to have a sensor get knocked off, water damaged, or anything else. They stay on as they should but come off pretty easily when -- and only when -- I want. I'll be using these for as long as I'm using the G7.

I bought this product because I have allergic reactions to regular dexcom provided over-patches. These were unfortunately not much better. Regular dexcom patches creates lots of sores, extreme itching, and redness of skin. This over patch had light sores, medium itching, and no redness. It lasted 7 days before I removed it. It looked like it was going to fall off if I didn't. I shower every day but I try not to let the water touch. (Itching it constantly and applying cortisone probably didn't help) It honestly was looking a little rough (fading and slight peeling) around day 3. I did like how it did not rip the dexcom off. When dexcom over patches fall off, they typically rip the dexcom with it. I loved how the air patch had an extra protection layer specifically around the dexcom. I personally won't buy again, but I have really sensitive skin. I think if someone has normal skin, it'll last the full 10 days, no problem. Since it doesn't rip off the dexcom, you could take it off if needed. Update: The company reached out and offered a refund even though this wasn't their fault at all!! I really appreciated the message and support. I ended up buying an under patch from a different company and used this as an over patch, it works PERFECTLY! (

This patch is great for the first few days, but any longer than 5 days, it starts to pill and get fuzzy. Even with SkinTac I had to remove it before the sensor was done and replace it with a new one as it started lifting and rolling from the edges. I ended up trying a different patch because i couldn’t take the how dirty and messy it looked after a few days.

These patches are good if you don’t want to use patches with strong adhesive (sensitive skin?). These patches are a bit tough to apply and often end up with wrinkles on the edges that allowed water to seep in. Add to that a somewhat weak adhesive and these patches only lasted 5-7 days for me, so I needed to use 2-3 patches for each 15-day glucose monitor. I found a different product (Onida Waterproof Patches) that are a lot easier to apply (almost never has wrinkles) and has stronger adhesive (I have yet to have one peel off before the 15-day glucose monitor expired). The Onida’s adhesive is pretty strong though, so those who prefer a patch that is easier to remove may prefer the Not Just A Patch-Air patches.

Ive tried a lot of patches and these are my favorite. They keep my dexcom on for the full 10 days and are gentle on my sensitive skin.

These work far better than the over patches that come with the glucose monitor. They cover the whole thing, but don’t attach to the monitor so if they start to look raggedy, you can easily peel it off and replace it with a new one without disturbing the monitor. We don’t even use the ones that come with the monitor anymore.
