I really love these things. As some reviewers have noted the seal can become imperfect. But there is an easy fix for that. The problem can be corrected by wetting the top down where all the sealing gaskets are located.***I do not actuate the button to make sure no water gets into the mechanism***Then I thoroughly dry with a paper towel and then I might let it sit for about an hour just to make sure it also air dries completely. When I do these steps it can sit untouched for 2 weeks without losing any of the vacuum, keeping my coffee nice and fresh.They are well made and look fantastic on my counter by the coffee bar.I am very happy with the purchase.

Some folks just have trouble with twisty things, and think something is wrong with the product, but Ifind these 1/2 lb vacuum jars are super. They look good too. The seal is tight and goes on feeling stiff,but by pushing down firmly till it seats on the gasket will insure you can vac out the air. Pressing a fewtime down on the large center button sucks out the air, and pushing down on the small button lets airin when you are ready to open. Remember, fresh beans gas-off a great deal and that makes you think thevac was leaking, but it was just the expansion of bean gas that filled the jar, not air in through the lid.I think these are truly worth it, so I think you should get them.

The seal doesn’t hold for very long. They look great though! It hasn’t affected the quality of my coffee grounds from what I can tell.

Don't waste your time and money with this product. I bought these to store coffee grounds, however, they do not stay sealed. I've filled them at different levels to see if maybe I overfilled the jar. But it still doesn't suck the air out. The instructions said to continuously press the center button until it stops rising up, but after it's "pressurized", a few hours later I'd notice the button would be up. When I applied a little pressure on the edge of the lid, the lid pops right off. Again, don't waste your money on these jars. The only reason I'm giving it two stars is because they are nice glass containers, that's it.

The lid creates an air tight seal keeping coffee fresh. The size is okay. It doesn't quite hold a full bag of beans which is unfortunate.

The units I got did not work. The lid is not creating a vacuum. I have to keep them because returning is such a problem for me. Spend more and buy something of better quality.

I highly recommend this product line. I've bought the tall jar and two small ones for coffee beans, ground coffee and ground cocoa, respectively. At first it was a little hard to get the lids off, but that seemed to be more of a learning curve on my part. What I love beyond the beauty of these jars (I got the grey glass) is that in the morning when I open the ground coffee jar, it smells just as fresh and strong as when I first ground the beans.

I ended up getting the 2 pack of 16oz jars as the larger one didn't fit where I needed it and they work well both jars together hold a 12oz bag of coffee beans. I haven't had any issues with sealing like others have said so they work good there. I will say this jar is 16oz of liquid or small grain items like sugar my roommate had been confused why a 12oz bag of beans wouldn't fit in just 1 16oz jar and this is due to the beans leaving alot of dead space that can't be filled meaning you will usually need roughly double the space for it. I believe the larger jar would fit a 12oz bag but the shelf i put my beans on is just to short. The image I added is just half a 12oz bag
