I purchased the Prestantious Low Profile Catch Basin Drain Kit Downspout Extender to help improve drainage around my home, especially in areas where heavy rain tends to collect and create small pools near the foundation. The kit includes a 12" x 12" catch basin, a flexible pipe with a 2" inner diameter, and an extender that stretches up to about 16.4 feet, which is a good length for redirecting water a safe distance away. The installation process was straightforward, even for someone like me who is not a professional landscaper. The low-profile design made it easy to position near the downspout without being an eyesore in the yard. The catch basin itself feels durable and strong, able to handle the water flow without warping or shifting. I also like that the flexible pipe bends easily, which makes it simple to route around landscaping or obstacles without needing additional connectors. After the first rainfall, I immediately noticed the difference. Water that used to pool near my back patio was now being directed further out into the yard where it could safely disperse. This has helped keep my foundation dry and also reduced muddy spots near walkways. Another plus is that the grate on top of the basin does a decent job of catching leaves and debris while still allowing water to flow through. Overall, this kit offers solid value for the price. It provides a complete drainage solution that is both practical and relatively easy to set up. If you’re dealing with standing water or foundation concerns, I would recommend giving this product a try.

I bought these right before hurricane Helene because I just spent $3500 on a parking pad made of crushed concrete number 57 around the back Of my porch side of my house. My downspouts on each side of my porch were a concern about washing my new rocks away even though they're packed down because of the hurricane. I live 40 miles from Cedar Key as the crow flies so I'm not right on the water but We get lots of wind and rain during hurricanes. When I was reading the reviews on these and the questions, I saw that some people had a hard time connecting the hose and at first, I thought it wasn't going to screw on right. I went back and looked at the Instructions, and they went right on easily. I dug down in my rocks a little bit to get the pans under my downspouts and pulled one hose straight across the rocks and the other out to the side away from them. I put the end of the hoses on the little water channels that were under the downspouts And put a brick on top of the tube to hold it in place and I put a brick a few inches in front of the opening of the tube in the channel to help keep water erosion from happening on my yard by slowing down the water. I also Secured the hoses down with lawn ornament wire Stuck in the ground over them just to make sure they didn't go flying back-and-forth in the hurricane. I evacuated and came Back five days later and everything was Right where I left it And my rocks weren't washed away where the water would've been spewing out of the gutter going across them with Hurricane rain and wind. I also didn't have a water erosion problem because I put a block in front of the Hose as mentioned earlier. These are good for me for the purpose I bought them for. Money well spent.

First let me say that the product does the job it is supposed to do and draw water away from your house. Like other reviews have mentioned, trying to connect the basin to the hose can be very frustrating, so you need a little patience with it. The design is not that great to begin with. The concept is great that the product does what it supposed to do since I installed it a couple weeks ago. It definitely dried up the area around my house so I can't complain about that. I am giving this product 4 stars only because of the connection issues, otherwise it is an easy and cheap way to get water away from your house from drainage pipes.

I got this to prevent my downspot from washing my topsoil away leaving a wide (5 feet) washed out area where grass will not grow. Unfortunately. The flat surface of the grate does not catch all the water that rushes out of the downspot during even a moderate rain. I will probably add some sort of deflector to keep the water from shooting over the grate. I had some difficulty “screwing” the hose onto the catch box. I got the long hose variety because the short hose would not reach far enough to get past the washout area. I am determined to get grass growing in the bare washout area.
