I feel the negative reviews, come from those that don't understand it's actual purpose. I feel it's essentially a coconut oil and sea salt spray, solid, that does excellent work for a natural, textured hold. My hair feels gritty." "It's not creamy" Well it's not supposed to be, they have an entire catalog of other products that offer what you're looking for. This one has it's place in the product line and I hope it never goes away! Especially the Amazon price point vs the other products I use, pink tin, extreme hold, sign me up for life! Extremely light weight, super easy to apply just like all their products, and you don't even need a shampoo to wash it out. Zero shine, and the scent is low key enough for it to not even really be mentioned unless you really stick your nose in the tin. A+ Reuzel

My son is 13 and obsessed with his hair. Pretty short on the sides and around the back. He just puts product in and pulls straight up on the long top. This is really good stuff. He swears by it.

This stuff is great I use it every morning. I just wet my hair a little bit, rub less than a dime sized amount in my hands and work it through my hair. Hold is just strong enough to add texture, good for giving you that messy but still groomed look. Smells better than other products I've tried, not super chemically. Doesn't leave my hair greasy and is easy to use during a hectic morning. Highly recommend for anyone combating super straight hair.

This paste is decent overall, although it tends to harden in cooler temperatures, making it difficult to scoop out. It also has a noticeable odor in the jar, but thankfully, it’s not detectable once applied to your hair. Once warmed up and rubbed between your palms, the product softens/emulsifies and performs pretty much as advertised, leaving your hair soft and manageable.

I have dark, fine, wavy, dense amount of hair. I have used matte cream topped off with texture powder in the past. I now use about a dime-sized amount of the Reuzel Surf Cream, and half a dime-size of Layrite Matte Cream mixed together. The result is a textured, wavy, messy look that I really like. When I used the Reuzel Surf Cream alone, I noticed some white specs on my hair and it was too puffy. I highly recommend mixing it your favorite hair cream to enhance its texturizing effect. I will definitely be purchasing this product again.

Reuzel usually has a good product, but this was a complete miss. The smell is awful, it’s so hard to describe, but it’s bad. The smell is so chemical, almost industrial. The hold is light, and it gets a beachy appearance, but then it breaks up and you end up with flaking on your clothing.

Helps give body/volume to my thinning silver hair. I also add a touch of reuzel’s clay matte pomade to the hair ends to help direct the front hair away from my eyes, and to help form my side parting style. It is extremely important to have completely DRY hair, and DRY hands when applying surf product. Otherwise the small grit becomes balled up like snow does when rolling it on the ground to make a snowman. I suspect the reviewers who have a dandruff looking outcome have applied surf product while having either wet hands or wet hair. I absolutely love the effect of this product. Wish it was offered in larger tins.

This product has so much potential but it's kind of wasted. For it's matte effect and the way it makes the hair feels dry and straight out of the ocean i honestly love it, but it leaves so much white flakes that it looks like pretty bad dandruff. It's sad cos if it wasn't for the white flakes I think I'd love it

La textura es genial, pero el pelo queda blanco, parece como si tuvieses polvo o caspa, no sé si lo aplico de manera errónea, pero si el propósito es que quede blanco entonces no es lo mío. Compré también la cera mate y va genial, huele bien y no mancha el pelo
