Too Late: Definitive Edition is intense, unsettling, and completely addictive. Colleen Hoover does an incredible job of creating characters who are so layered that you’re never entirely sure who to trust—or if you should trust anyone at all. Sloan’s story is raw and emotional, filled with impossible choices and dangerous situations that had my heart racing. Asa is one of the most complex villains I’ve ever read—equal parts terrifying and magnetic—and the tension between Sloan, Asa, and Carter is just relentless. I loved that this edition felt more polished and cohesive; the pacing kept me hooked the whole way through. It’s definitely not a lighthearted romance—there are dark themes and some very uncomfortable moments—but that’s what made it so compelling. If you’re looking for a psychological romance-thriller that keeps you guessing and pulls you deep into a morally gray world, this is absolutely worth the read. Review: Traumatic but beautiful! - Thus one definitely pulled at my heart strings. The emotional roller coaster was enjoyable and beautiful but also traumatic. My new favorite characters from cohort are Luke and Sloan. This is a good easy read that may not be suitable for someone with traumatic triggers but a heartfelt story that portrays that love is not always kind and love can be very complicated with someone who has mental issues or traumatic childhood memories but beautiful live can always be found if you are willing to change your fate.

Colleen Hoover fan club
Interesting book! Definitely don’t recommend for young readers or people who struggle with DV as there are some harsh scenes. It’s a good story and very on par for this author

Top author at the moment!! *NO spoilers*
I saw a recommendation of this book on a group I joined not too long ago. I had read Verity by Colleen Hoover and adored her writing style. After reading what this book entailed, I was immediately intrigued and ordered it for rush shipping lol. It is one of the longest books I read this year (almost 400 pages) and also the fastest one I read!!! I read this in 2 days and basically finished 50% of the book in the first sitting/reading it. It definitely surrounds dark topics and does have a warning at the beginning of the book that entails the trigger warnings. I absolutely loved this book, even more than I did Verity honestly. The storyline was quick and you get an understanding of each main character and their perspective, which really adds to the emotions you feel and how you react to every event. This isn’t a book where you have to solve or figure out a mystery, which is something I don’t read often, but this book made you FEEL and I loved it. It made you uncomfortable, angry, nervous, happy, sad. It just kept you on your toes and had a plot you couldn’t figure out before the book ended. I despise when I can tell an ending before I get there, but this book just keeps you interested because there is so ending to solve, it just moves you in my opinion. This is definitely at the top of my list for books I have read this year and recommend to anyone who is looking for a dark book to read.

So frustrating
Threw will be spoilers This book was a good read but incredibly infuriating. Carter/Luke is the dumbest character ever written. This is not an exaggeration. Everything he does is the stupidest thing he could do in a that situation. The author puts poor Sloane through the ringer. She is SA'd several times by multiple people and even has to give with knowing that Asa is her baby's father. The author couldn't even give her that tiny ray of light at the end and make Luke the baby daddy. What's really infuriating though is that even with everything that Asa puts her through she still wants him the moment he shows her any compassion. She responds to him with urgency at any tiny semblance of being treated well. Which is why the more you read you realize this isn't a love story between Sloane and Carter/ Luke, it's a love story between Sloane and Asa. I've read 3 books by Colleen Hoover and for some reason she is obsessed with painting the abuser as a sympathetic figure. Asa is the most fleshed out character in this book. He's by far the smartest character and is superior to Carter/Luke in every way. Now this isn't as important as everything else but the undercover aspect od this book was laughably bad. Carter never does one second of police work. He never investigates anything. He never does any work for Asa. All of his time is spent trying to get into Sloane's pant and therefore putting both their lives in danger every chance he gets and jeopardizing the work of whatever cops are actually doing work on the case. It's hilarious that she doesn't even attempt to do anything with that plot. Ultimately I enjoyed this book but I just felt terrible for Sloane. The part about the baby being Asa's was just unnecessary cruelty.

‘Too Late’ is a humdinger of a psychological thriller, which is pacy, violent, sexy, and very, very good. I fancied a book that was change of pace from my usual historicals or mysteries, and boy did I get it! The books start with a forward by the author, explaining the book was never meant to be written. This immediately made me want to read on…. Apparently Colleen was suffering from lack of inspiration and to help her mojo, wrote a chapter at a time which she posted for free online. Then she’d wait for reader feedback before crafting the next chapter. It was intended as a throw away project to be picked up and put down, which grew and took on a life of its own. Sloan is a battler, a girl with more responsibility on her young shoulders than many experience in a lifetime. Unfortunately, the financial solution to many of those problems is Asa Jackson, drug dealer, who becomes infatuated with her. Enter Carter (real name Luke), an undercover cop assigned to infiltrate Asa’s inner circle. Sloan and Carter have chemistry, which tips the balance and means Sloan can no longer tolerate Asa’s coercive, abusive, manipulative control of her. But Asa is a dangerous man and Sloan is his girl, so things cannot end well…or can they? The book benefits from being written a chapter at a time, with plenty of cliffhangers and twists aplenty. This book wont be for everyone (lots of trigger warnings at the beginning ) but for some readers, myself included, it was a hum-dinger of a read. Can’t wait for the next time I need a change of pace, because Colleen Hoover books are waiting!

This book was really intense. Too Late is not like the usual love stories by Colleen Hoover. It’s dark, serious, and has a lot of scary and emotional moments. But once I started reading, I couldn’t stop. The story is about a girl named Sloan who’s stuck in a bad relationship with a guy named Asa. He’s controlling, dangerous, and involved in illegal stuff. She’s only staying with him to take care of her sick brother. Then she meets Carter, a guy who seems kind and safe—but things get more complicated. Some parts of the book are hard to read because they talk about abuse and other disturbing things. So, if that bothers you, be careful with this one. Asa, the bad guy, is written in a way that really makes you feel scared and angry. The book isn’t perfect—some scenes felt a bit too dramatic—but it kept me hooked. If you like stories that are emotional, serious, and full of suspense, you might really like this.

Fiquei surpresa!!!
