John Frieda Sheer Blonde Go Blonder Controlled Lightening Spray

I've always been very blonde but felt like it was fading recently and gradually getting darker so I thought I'd give this a whirl. After about three uses I noticed a difference (that's just spraying it when showered and then blow drying and styling, although I just blow-dried). My hair was definitely blonder and looked really evenly spread. I had read reviews about it drying out your hair however my hair feels nicely soft and not at all damaged. Another tip is if we get some nice weather, is after spraying and drying, to go out in the sun (be careful not to burn your scalp though!) as the natural sun works really well with the spray to enhance the lightening. Glad I gave it a go, worked exactly as I'd hoped.

I bought this product not expecting it to really work but thought I would give it a go as I have always wanted blonder hair, but haven't wanted to dye it. Before I started using this product my hair was a dark blonde. After about 3 uses I really started to notice a difference. My hair was much lighter, and more shiny. After a week my hair had gone from dull dark blonde, to a lovely sun-kissed blonde. It is exactly the colour I had wanted! People have started to comment on how lovely my new hair colour is. Now all I need to do is apply the spray to the roots of my hair as it starts to grow again. It is so easy to do too! All you have to do is spray on your hair when it is wet, and then blow dry your hair. This is a brilliant product and I would fully recommned it!

It' s the first time I used a lightening spray. I was afraid to do so because my really weak hair! I have light brown colour, I only used the product 7-8 times and I have great results! It' s not that I got blonde, this is not the point, but the colour is obviously a lot lighter, with beautiful shades! Also it leaves hair really soft! I liked this product - within just one use I noticed a difference. It takes a little bit of skill and time to make sure it is evenly distributed across your hair - I recommend asking for assistance whilst doing the back of your end so you get even colour and not on bleach blond patch next to a beige like when I first tried it! Many people do not use this product as they say its gives an unnatural blond colour. However I found once I had got it to the desired shade, although it was 'yellow' after a couple of weeks of no use it became a much more natural shade of blond, and people exclaimed their surprise when I said it was not natural. It took about a month and before before my roots came through, but the advantage of the spray it is so easy to blend them in within only one use which took a maximum of 5 minutes. I wouldn't suggest use it any more frequently than weekly since the excessive hair drying and straightening can harm your hair and give it a sticky, static texture which took about a week of heavy conditioning to remove. Overall I would recommend this to anyone needing a quick fix but high quality and permanent lightening of the hair that can be as gradual and natural as you want it, unlike the harsh and sudden change which comes with dye out of a bottle.

Brilliant stuff and works

When I first starting using this I thought I'd found the holy grail of hair products. Now a year later and after not using it for months I'm still suffering the effects! My hair is extremely dry, a lot thinner than it used to be and breaking off from the roots, I could actually cry! I also can't have my hair coloured for the foreseeable future as it's too damaged, my hair dresser has told me it's all because of this stuff. So, be warned!! If you do use it, use it very, very sparingly and only for a short period of time.

I bought this spray because I had problems with my hair color. After a year with experimenting with brown shade hair dyes I finally decided to go blond again. And that is not an easy task. After dying it blond it was a disaster. The roots were much more lighter than the rest of the hair (which by the way was brassy and not very pretty). So I had to fix this problem. I sprayed John Frieda lightning spray on the darker parts of my hair and then blow dried it. I also used a straightening iron to achieve a maximum effect. Well, the results were nice - it has evened my hair color. That's what I like about this product - you can control where you want the hair to be lighter. I also used it on the roots when they grew out. And the effect is amazing! I really recommend this spray. I didn't even notice any damage to my hair. It is gentle and it also doesn't make your hair brassy. But one thing was kind of disappointment - it's such a little bottle! I have to buy tones of this because one bottle lasts for 2 weeks only... So, that is the only negative thing I notice :)

This works really well! I am careful not to overdo it, hair lighteners are hard on the hair. But the color results and smell of this is far better than my old standby of sun-in. It works well in combination with a color correcting blue shampoo.
