Works perfectly with my botslab 4 channel fitted to my suv, easy to install and no trying to find fuse for permanent power connections.

Plugged straight into the OBD port and powered my dash cam without any issues. The cable feels good quality and saves running wires across the car. Simple, tidy solution that does exactly what I needed

Good quality, however, the description says "When the car is ignited, the power cord begins to output power; After the car is turned off for 5 minutes, the power cord will automatically stop supplying power and turn off the output. " which is not accurate. After I switched off the car, I went to do my shopping for well over 5 mins and when I came back the dashcam was still turned on. This is indeed strange - I had to disconnect the cam as I was worried my battery would die if I left it overnight. Edit: Definitely not turning off after 20 mins of engine stop. I went to work and forgot to switch off the camera and it stayed on for the whole day.When I check the timestamps it has been recording all day long.

Brilliant lead this. You can install a dash cam like hard wiring, but without the hassle of using the fuse box. It's really good quality and was easy to fit. Very good value for money too.

Need to hardwire your dash cam in but can't be bothered with the fiddly bits or paying Halfords a fortune to do it for you? Discovered this cable and it's a dead easy way to do it. This powers the dashcam from the OBD port instead of using your 12v socket in the dash, and without the need to hardwire it in, which can be awkward sometimes. My car (Mercedes E Class) the fuse box is in the boot, so running a hardwire cable to it is complex. I've used this to power the cam from the OBD port and it works perfectly; then just tucked the wires into the lining around the window and dashboard and it's as neatly hidden as if it was wired in by a professional. Things to note: make sure you know where your OBD port is before ordering. Most cars, it's located under the dashboard near the steering wheel, so ideal for hiding cables but if you have an old Renault, the OBD port is in the centre storage compartment under all the rubbish you keep in there - this wouldn't be convenient for you then. It only uses the power from the OBD port, it has no other connectors so it does not impact your car's computer in any way. You will need to unplug it if you want to use an actual OBD reader or you're putting your car in for service. Some cars OBD ports are hidden behind a flap that you might need to leave open - could be irritating if near your legs. Otherwise, this is a perfect solution to a lazy way to hardwire in your dashcam.

this was a great alternative to hard wiring a camera to the fuse box or the battery. Easier to run and work just as great. Also have a switch in case you don’t want it hardwired the whole time. Easy and inexpensive.
