GEARWRENCH - 30 PC. BOLT BITER WRENCH INSERT SET (86193)

I have a different style of the same brand and also a different brand and style, but these are very impressive. I thought I would have damaged one of them on a couple of different projects. It not only worked on the rounded (literally) exhaust manifold nut, but it didn't have a scratch (sort of speak) on it after doing a few of them. I even used a large impact wrench on it. I'm impressed with these. Where others have failed me, these came through. I definitely recommend them!!

Rusted, seized and snapped bolt completely taken out without anything remaining inside. My husband is very happy with this product. Thanks.

Love the fact that it can be used to put a rounded bolt back in, comes in clutch if you're in a pinch

The set has been used primarily on drain plugs, hence why I opted for the size that goes up to 19mm. While I would have preferred full socket sized bolt extractors (that while longer, are narrower than these and can fit a ratchet directly), the price of this set was too good to pass up. The case is pretty nice too, and while the extractors are held in by foam, it's a really solid, firm foam with little chance of tearing or deforming. Just hammer on the damaged bolt (more often than not, I find myself using a socket and extension over the extractor to do so), and the vast majority of the time, unless the bolt is overtightened or very rusted, it'll come right out. If you really have to reuse the bolt, once it's tightened (not overtightened, please), the extractor comes off on its own most times.
